It is known for its charming scenery of "light smoke brushing the islet, and a gentle breeze blowing," and is one of the three famous lakes in Jiangnan. The entire scenic area is open to the public for free all day, and only the boat ride requires a fee. Recommended route: Huijing Garden - Huxin Island - Nanhu Tiandi - Xiaoyingzhou - Nanhu Hotel - Wuxiang Temple - Lanxiu Garden - Nanhu Greenway - Shaoyuan The biggest attractions on Huxin Island are the Red Boat and the Yanyu Tower. It takes about 5 minutes to reach Huxin Island by boat from the Huijing Garden Pier, and the Red Boat site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China is right after you get off the boat. The island is not large, and it takes about 30 minutes to walk around following the signs.

I booked a deluxe lake view king room. The guest house is very close to South Lake Scenic Area, and the view from the balcony is amazing! You can see the lake and buildings, and the greenery provides privacy. The facilities are complete, with a bathtub and smart toilet as standard, as well as a tea set and capsule coffee machine. I'm looking forward to the buffet breakfast tomorrow morning. I'm totally hooked on the guest house~ The room is spacious, cozy, and comfortable! You can enjoy the greenery outside the window while lying down, and South Lake is right next to you! It's also close to Moon River and Zicheng, so you don't have to worry about eating, drinking, and having fun! The guest house also has its own specialty dishes, which are quite delicious. I really like their homemade fresh meat mooncakes!!

Just got back from Jiaxing, here are my thoughts...|||We took the kids to Jiaxing for the weekend to experience the beauty of Jiangnan in the rain. Accommodation: Nanhu Hotel, Chinese style, beautiful scenery! The hotel is right by Nanhu Lake, less than a 5-minute walk to Haogu Tower. The breakfast is delicious, and the room service is very attentive! Haogu Tower & Nanhu Lake Cruise: Climb the tower to overlook the hotel and Nanhu Lake. Even on a rainy day, the view is still beautiful. Unfortunately, the kids didn't want to go to the island. Yuehe Street: A leisurely stroll in the evening, choose a riverside restaurant, sit by the window, and enjoy the view of the bridges and flowing water outside. Beautiful! The Zongzi Museum is small, but I learned about zongzi culture for the first time. It was the first time in my life that I ate zongzi like ice cream, novel and delicious! We also came across the century-old Our Lady of Lourdes Church, a casual photo, and it's beautiful! Jiaxing Museum: The Zhao Mengfu exhibition was a bit disappointing, but seeing the Majiabang culture from more than 5,000 years ago and the development of Jiaxing's history, I deeply felt the weight of the city. Food recommendations: Yixin, Yunshang Restaurant, after dinner, take a stroll by Nanhu Lake, so relaxing! The kids said Jiaxing was so delicious! Back in Shanghai, looking at the crowds and skyscrapers, they said pitifully: "Mom, let's take two more days off and go back to Jiaxing for two more days!"

I recently came to Shanghai on a business trip, and I chose a small Jiangnan city near Shanghai to stay for two days over the weekend for a relaxing vacation. After hesitating among Tonglu, Lishui and Shaoxing, I finally chose Jiaxing. The reason for choosing Jiaxing is simple: it is close to Shanghai, the hotels are good, the restaurants are delicious, and it is extremely suitable for a weekend vacation on a hot day with temperatures of 40 degrees. Transportation: Shanghai Hongqiao-Jiaxing South, the high-speed rail only takes 30 minutes to arrive (faster than my trip to Pudong). When we arrived in Jiaxing, we felt that the temperature was comparable to Shanghai's 40 degrees Celsius, so we quickly took a taxi to the hotel to escape the heat! Hotel: I was attracted by the price of Sheraton Jiaxing, but I finally chose Nanhu Hotel. Don’t be put off by its name, this is not an ordinary hotel. It is an exaggeration to say that it is a state-level garden hotel! Even my straight husband who is usually slow to talk about hotels couldn’t stop praising it! The hotel seems to have been newly renovated in 2021. The appearance and hardware and software facilities are all designed with great care. It is definitely not one of those internet-famous hotels that are first-rate for taking photos but have third-rate facilities. Living in Nanhu, I feel like the world is a huge garden. The houses are surrounded by gardens, the restaurants are surrounded by gardens, and there are beautiful garden landscapes wherever you go. This is probably what it means to have a changing scenery with every step. It’s hard to imagine how free and unrestrained I would be if the weather was cooler! By the way, the hotel recommends booking in advance. There seems to be an event going on recently. I booked a night for just over 700, including breakfast. The price/performance ratio is so great! Food: Jiaxing people are so happy! The people of Zhejiang are so happy! This time in Jiaxing, I not only ate at many local home-style restaurants, but also tried Wenzhou fried vermicelli, Taizhou small seafood, Jiangxi stir-fried dishes, and glutinous rice cakes. I had seven meals in two days and not a single one was a disappointment! Recommend some delicious restaurants we had this time: Taizhou Toumenggang Small Seafood: A seafood stall with delicious taste and reasonable price, recognized by Taizhou friends! Wenzhou Fish Head: There are fewer dishes, but the taste is really great! Fanghezhou Restaurant: A local restaurant with a very down-to-earth feel. The environment is average, but the taste is really amazing! We ate there twice in two days! Jiangnan Waipo Bridge · Hecheng Memory: Nice environment, decent taste, recommended yellow croaker rice cake and drunken shrimp Guanqiao Gong Noodles: Pork liver noodles and seafood noodles are both good. Most of the toppings are stir-fried, which is suitable for those with a stronger taste. Mei A Ni Tea Cake: I bought meat tea cakes from this shop and packed 4 egg yolk meat dumplings to go. 27 Jiaxing Hotel visited again and stayed there. This is the third time I have stayed at Jiaxing Nanhu Hotel this year. I have new feelings every time I stay here. The hotel service is getting better and better. During the day, the hotel's outdoor garden is lush and verdant, with willows by the river; at night, the night view is bright, quiet, deep and unique; the courtyard has winding paths, a bright moon and numerous stars, and is quiet and beautiful. The beautiful sunset in late autumn and early winter, especially the maple leaves, which change from green to yellow, add unforgettable colors to the orange, yellow, tangerine and green season.
