A 2-day, 1-night travel guide to Dapeng, Shenzhen, featuring sea, mountains, temples, and an ancient city
Recently, I wanted to experience the feeling of going to a windy place, so I went to the place in Shenzhen that feels most like a windy destination – Dapeng Fortress 🏯 If you also want to relax by the seaside where the breeze blows, consider this 2-day, 1-night travel guide, which will fulfill all your fantasies of an ancient city + seaside vacation! The itinerary is as follows: 💼
𝐃𝐀𝐘𝟏: Homestay — Experience the windy Dapeng Ancient City — Jiaochangwei beachside fun 🌟
𝐃𝐀𝐘𝟐: Watch the sunrise at Jiaochangwei🌅 — Overlook the ancient city and sea from Dongshan Temple — Sunset at Nanao's No.1 Beach🌇 — Return trip 🚗
🏯 Dapeng Fortress: Shenzhen's Dali Ancient City 🏰
The ancient city, with a history of over 600 years, gives you the feeling of being in a windy place. There are many great spots for eating, playing, and taking photos📸. I especially love the second floor of the city gate, where you can overlook the ancient city, and I also enjoy aimlessly wandering the quaint streets. It's delightful to stroll, eat, take photos, and be amazed! 🚶♀🌆
🌊 Jiaochangwei: Shenzhen's Little Gulangyu 🏖
(500 meters from the ancient city across a road) Jiaochangwei – the beach most familiar to Shenzhen locals and the top choice for corporate team-building. There are various styles of homestays that are stunning, and during the day, you can sit by the sea and drink coffee🍵, swim🏊, ride a motorboat⛵, or go parasailing🪂. At night, you can visit a pub or have a barbecue🍢. It's probably the most well-equipped seaside town in Shenzhen for food, drink, and fun! 🌅
⛩ Dongshan Temple
(500 meters from the ancient city) A temple built during the Ming Dynasty, featuring grand and majestic Chinese architectural style. Nestled against the mountain and facing the water, it's very peaceful and serene. ⛰
⛰ The mountain behind Dongshan Temple
Due to the temple's grand scale and the desire to overlook it, I walked up the mountain behind the temple. It's an easy 20-minute walk to the top (very relaxing), but the lush trees block the view of the temple😅. There are two stone spots at the top that perfectly overlook Jiaochangwei and the ancient city🥰. 🏞
🏨 Shenzhen Lanhuating·Fanlu Seaside Hotel
(200 meters from Dongshan Temple) The homestay I stayed at is the Chinese-style Lanhuating·Fanlu Seaside Hotel. The quaint rooms come with private courtyards, and all rooms are on the ground floor, while the second floor is a large sky pavilion with a garden surrounded by greenery. You can also see the Dongshan mountain scenery, offering a view of the clouds rolling by, which is very relaxing for the body and mind. 🏰🌳
🏖 Nanao's No.1 Beach
(About half an hour's drive from the ancient city) A row of colorful houses🏨, a vacation spot with a small Babylonian vibe🕌, free to take photos, plus soft beige sand and azure sea🌊. The highlight is the stunning sunset here🌇! 🌅
