Natural scenery

Namhansanseong Fortress, one of the four major fortresses that guarded Hanyang in the past, is surrounded by Namhansanseong Provincial Park. To the north is Kaesong, to the south is Suwon, to the west is Ganghwa, and to the northeast is Guangzhou. Namhan Mountain Fortress is located in Guangzhou in the east. It is located on Namhan Mountain, 24km east of Seoul and 6km northeast of Seongnam City, with a total length of 12.4km and a height of 7.3m. Legend has it that 2,000 years ago, it was the royal castle of King Onjo, the son of King Dongmyeong of Goguryeo. There are also records showing that it was the Great Wall of Day built by King Wenmu of Silla in the 13th year of Hanshanzhou when the Luotang War broke out. It is said that Namhansanseong Fortress was built during the reign of King Gwanghae of Joseon (1621) after the descendants repaired the original site of the fortress several times. In 2014, UNESCO decided to inscribe Namhansanseong Fortress, a building of the Joseon Dynasty in South Korea, on the World Heritage List. Namhansanseong Fortress is also a famous sightseeing spot on foot or by car in the suburbs of Seoul, South Korea, attracting tourists all year round.

As May approaches, I'd like to introduce a cafe full of wisteria trees that come to mind. Located in Namhansanseong, Wisteria is a cafe with a terrace full of wisteria trees, just like its name suggests. The mysterious blue-purple wisteria flowers were in full bloom. Breathtaking view with history

#gohiking This is Namhansanseong fortress located in Gyeonggi province, South Korea. It is only around an hour away from from Seoul. You can take the bus half way up and continue the hike from there. The air was fresh, the view was fantastic and it just makes your soul feel refreshed. There are also a few cafes there to chill at. This is the perfect city escape in South Korea 👍🏼

The stronghold, which is 12 km long, guards a sizable region that served as Korea's temporary capital city during the Joseon Dynasty. Namhansanseong illustrates how the many defense mechanisms theories in Korea were developed by fusing the context of daily life with defensive goals. In Korea, the fortress came to represent governmental authority.

Fancy a walk in a forest around ancient fortress?

Namhansanseong fortress is surrounded by massive forest area and Namhansanseong mountain. There are lots and lots of trails of different difficulty levels. A fairly easy trail goes along ancient fortification walls through the forest, featuring old gates, cityscape viewpoints, randomly located sculptures and more... and of course entire hike is very well arranged path (like pretty much any hike in South Korea). Tip: place gets very crowded on weekends, so better come on weekdays. One more tip: it is well maintained and possible to walk even in the darkness (as many Koreans do), so spending sunset up high with a view to Seoul is a must! #naturelovers #seoul #southkorea

Cafe Soom at Namhansanseong.

On the way up to Namhansanseong from Gwangju City, if you take the mountain path just before the direct sales market for agricultural products, you'll find Cafe Soom sitting picturesquely in the Ojeon-ri Dunjeon village. A cafe named 'Soom' (Breath) in such a place? Surrounded by nothing but rice paddies and fields, I wondered why there were so many people at this seemingly unremarkable cafe. But as I sat there, sipping on a cup of coffee and spacing out, a sense of peace found its way into my heart. The bakery's flavors are also delightful. Where does this warm and cozy feeling come from? It's 'Soom'. I forgot the fact that I had to go home and ended up sitting there until late into the night.

#Seoul Suburbs Address: Namhansanseong-ro, Provincial Road 342 Go up Namhansanseong-ro, a winding road located across from Dakjukchon Folk Village. *However, if there is traffic at the entrance, it takes 2 hours to get to the top of Namhansanseong, so go when it is not crowded! Atmosphere/Facilities: 🚗 ✔️These days, the Seoul sky is incredibly pretty, and this is the perfect place to enjoy that clear sky. ✔️For parking, there are parking lots at cafes and restaurants, and you can use public parking lots! ✔️There are many hanok cafes along the winding alleys (most of the time parking is difficult). Cafe recommendations: 🚗 1. Gabesanseong, a hanok cafe that I went into after seeing the sign that said "domestic red beans" are used. Konggomul Patbingsu 12,000 won 2. Cafe Or is popular for its large lawn garden, glass windows, and Hanok. Many families come here because of the garden.

Getting There - From Myeongdong, take bus M4102 and change to subway and bus 9 from Moran station. overall journey is about 1.5 hours once we arrived we had the ginseng chicken and korean pancake at the restaurant just opposite the roundabout where we alight from the bus. food was nice visited the Namhansanseong emergency palace, the palace was reconstructed therefore it was empty inside. track up to the temple and the west gate fortress. good view of seoul city
