Nakajima is a beautiful park, well organized, and well appointed with a small river, benches, plenty of toilets, statutes, an observatory and historic building, a lake or two and lots of easy paths. We happened to be here in the Autumn when the ginkgo trees were full of yellow leaves as well as bright red maples.

The beautiful scenery of Nakajima Park.
Nakajima Park in Hokkaido is located next to the Nakajima Park Station on the Sapporo City Subway Namboku Line. As soon as you exit, you will see the ginkgo avenue. The park is filled with ginkgo and maple leaves, and there is a beautiful pond. The ginkgo trees are over 10 meters tall, and the reflection of the ginkgo in the pond is quite beautiful and really charming. The entire park is quite spacious, making it a beautiful park suitable for walking. The best time to visit is from mid-October to early November each year. Nakajima Park is a great place to enjoy the ginkgo trees.

Colorful Paintings of Hokkaido in Autumn
The countryside and towns of Hokkaido in late October are like colorful paintings. Green pines and cypresses, green lawns, and colorful leaves are mixed together. The red is warm and charming, the golden yellow is transparent and bright, and the apricot color is warm and soft. When we went there, it was cloudy and rainy, which added to the romantic interest of viewing the red leaves. Walking with an umbrella on the quiet, wet path covered with dead leaves, you can see the colorful mountains in the distance, and the colorful trees in the water along the lake look like watercolor paintings. Hokkaido's Daisho Park, Nakajima Park, Odori Park, Otaru, and especially the Shiroi Koibito Park are great places to enjoy autumn. Hokkaido's JR railway, buses, and other transportation are very convenient. You need to plan ahead, as trains and buses are very punctual and stop for a short time.

Hokkaido Sapporo Accommodation Guide - Sapporo Park Hotel
During my trip to Japan, I found this hotel to be the most standard and comfortable place to stay. It's a well-established hotel with reasonable prices, yet the service and facilities are top-notch, truly living up to its reputation. Here are the reasons why I recommend it: It's reportedly the only hotel in Sapporo with a presidential suite. Even our national leaders have stayed here during their visits.
The staff's English proficiency is excellent, making check-in and other procedures seamless for those who don't speak Japanese. The price is reasonable. I stayed in mid to late January, and the rate was about 65 EUR per night for a single room, which is much more affordable compared to Tokyo during the same period. The location is superb, eliminating the need to drag luggage through the snow.
After arriving at Sapporo Station, it's just three subway stops to Nakajima Park Station, with Exit 3 leading directly to the hotel. Regardless of the snow, the hotel ensures the path is clear, which is very considerate. It's conveniently located near Sapporo's attractions, with easy access to Tanukikoji Shopping Street and various popular stores.
The environment is beautiful. If you're lucky, you might get upgraded to a high-floor garden view room, offering stunning views of Nakajima Park. The in-room coffee machine brews coffee comparable to a 6.5 EUR cup from a Shanghai street café. The tea and coffee facilities are comprehensive and free, with refills costing just 100 yen, which is very economical.
Lastly, the room temperature is very comfortable. Although it's central air conditioning, it feels like northern heating. The room is not cold at all, and you can comfortably wear short sleeves. Even with a face mask on at night, it doesn't feel dry. Overall, for a hotel to achieve this level of comfort and service, I consider it very successful. I would likely stay here again on my next visit to Hokkaido. However, if prices rise significantly during peak season, I might consider other cost-effective options.

Beautiful green space. Good children's playground. Multi age groups. Puppet theatre opposite. They run shows in Japanese but my English speaking daughter still loved it.
Baby ducklings in the pond. Beautiful nature stream.
One of Sapporo nicer parks, head over during the autumn season for something unique and nice!
Cool winds and decent colored trees
There were not alot of tourists around, but pretty decent place really!

Nakajima Park
This park is only three stops frorm downtown Sapporo on the subway. It is a beautiful park. In autumn, the leaves turn idfferent colours art different times, with shades of red, orange and yellow making a colourful display.. As Sapporo is in the far north of Japan, so spring comes later -- the cherry blosoms bloom in April. Najajima Park is a great place to view the cherry blossoms or "sakura" as they are called in Japanese. The park also hosts the Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara and a tribute to the US conductor and music educaor, Leonard Bernstein
