This is a nice park area that was quiet when I was there and I felt more like I was there than in Hiroshima. It is important to get the feel there imagining the sorrow, pain, ... the bomb caused. It is vital to realize the ground level elevation and its reason. A must visit location when in Nagasaki as the Nagasaki Bomb Epicenter sits in a lovely park adjacent to the main Peace Park and only a short distance to the Nagasaki Peace Park Museum. #givethanks #givethanks

My trip to Nagasaki was a mix of excitement and deep reflection, especially when I visited the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. Nagasaki is a lively and beautiful city, but the museum gave me a chance to understand its painful history. When I entered the museum, I felt the weight of what had happened there. The displays were powerful, with real items from the bombing on August 9, 1945. There were pictures, burned clothing, and melted glass – all reminders of the damage caused by the atomic bomb. It was both sad and eye-opening to see the impact up close. One part that really touched me was learning about the survivors, called hibakusha. Their stories of rebuilding their lives and the city were inspiring. The museum also teaches visitors about the importance of peace and why we should work to prevent this from ever happening again. After the museum, I went to Peace Park nearby. It’s a calm and beautiful place with statues and monuments to remember those affected. Just a short walk from the park is the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. At the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, you can learn about the horrors of the bombing through videos and other exhibits. There are also visually impactful displays such as a reconstruction of the side wall of the Urakami Cathedral, which was destroyed in the blast. Additionally, there is a small observation deck-like spot where you can overlook the city.
