My Son Sanctuary is about an hour's drive from Hoi An. It's not very cost-effective to travel alone by Grab or to hire a private car. You can also book transportation on a platform. However, considering that most of the temple ruins are almost destroyed and it might be hard to understand without a guide, I signed up for a half-day tour (including transportation, lunch, and a boat trip, but excluding the entrance fee of VND 150,000). The hotel pickup and drop-off were very convenient. With the guide's (whose English pronunciation was very clear) explanation, I gained a basic understanding of the history and architectural features of the Champa civilization. Although 90% of the temple ruins are actually destroyed, some parts have been restored with the help of various countries in recent years. On the way back, we took a 20-minute boat trip along the Thu Bon River. The view of the ancient town of Hoi An from the river was also very nice.

impresive temple in the middle of the jungle..... big and old constructions keeping the local culture alive... you can see different temple sites and algo a dance show explaining a little bit hiw was the culture those days... my son temple is a must if you are visiting Danang or Hoi an.... you can rent a scooter and drive all the way for visit... is a nice road drive!!
