Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region) Is a comfortable beach big enough, clean sand suitable for strolling family atmosphere, with parking nearby. This beach is not suitable for children as it gets deep quickly and there can be large waves. Couldn't rinse myself with fresh water as it was closed to the whole beach area. There are plenty of places to eat in the area, beach bars to eat at and drinks, and the beach is just a short walk from town. #AprilDestinations2025 #SpainTravel #Catalonia

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region) The Coll i Regàs House is a modernist building in Mataró, built in 1898 by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Its facade measures 11 m. Neo-Gothic style, including the chocolate bar, the main door, the ground floor grandstand and all the windows. It is completed by colorful graffiti and decorative tiles. It's a miracle. The decor of the house is stunning both from the outside and inside. There are many beautiful elements. I took a special photo of the cat and rabbit above the entrance for my wife. Inside there is a small exhibition of tools, fabrics, leathers used for decoration or restoration. It opens onto a large balcony which replaces the patio. This church captivates with its architecture: a fusion of Gothic foundations and intricate Baroque details. The frescoes are particularly impressive, conveying emotion and drama in the finest Baroque tradition. I also love that it houses an ancient pipe organ, considered one of the largest in Catalonia. The atmosphere inside the cathedral is incredibly somber yet peaceful.

It offers a steady programme of temporary exhibitions on local themes such as archaeology, art, history, ethnology, science and technology, and natural sciences. Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region) Built in 1851 by architect Elías Rogent, this building is a magnificent example of historicist architecture. Rogent is also known for his restoration work at the University of Barcelona and the Monastery of Ripoll, where he created a work inspired by medieval earthen structures of the western Mediterranean. The prison's architecture features an interesting combination of materials, with a masonry facade forming a semicircle inspired by Jeremy Bentham's panorama models, allowing all cells to be seen from the centre of the courtyard. Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region) The Roman villa of Torre Llauder can be visited every Saturday at 12 noon. Admission is free and includes a guided tour that lasts about an hour. It allows you to get acquainted with the Roman way of life through archaeological remains, discovering the rooms of the villa and their different uses, such as the bathrooms, the dining room with typical mosaic fragments or the perimeter of the remains of the two courtyards. The illustrations of spatial reconstructions shown by the guide throughout the visit were appreciated, as they allowed us to better understand the archaeological remains. Many details and curiosities of daily life in Roman times are explained. Since archaeological excavations take place every year, it’s fun to visit each year to see new discoveries. Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region) The building was the first work built by Antoni Gaudí and the only one that was driven not by the bourgeoisie or the Church but by one of the first workers’ cooperatives in the textile industry. Gaudí's involvement with this cooperative was largely due to his friendship with Salvador Pagès, a key figure in the Catalan cooperative movement. This relationship influenced the young architect, who early on showed an interest in the new social trends of the time. From Gaudí's original project, both the bleaching boat and the adjacent toilets are currently preserved. Without the existence of the Mataro cooperative, Gaudí would not have tried some of the architectural solutions that he later applied in works such as the attic of La Pedrera or the three-dimensional funicular model of the Colonia Güell. In this building, the use of parabolic arches made it possible to cover nearly 600 square meters of transparent surface without the need for columns or walls. Furthermore, the use of wood made it possible to create lightweight but strong arches, hinged in small sections. This building represents an important milestone in the development of Gaudí's work, as it laid the foundation for the development of the arch as a key structural element in his most authentic architecture. Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region) Mataró is a prosperous industrial, commercial and tourist town on the Maresme coast, inheriting a long and rich historical heritage that dates back to the Roman Piazza Lluro, as evidenced by the archaeological site of the Llauder Tower, which contains ruins. However, many other significant events also left their mark in this town, such as the construction in 1848 of the first railway in the history of the Iberian Peninsula, which connected Barcelona to Mataró. The old city center is bounded by 16th-century walls. In the center we can see the 15th century Cathedral of Santa Maria, whose facade had its medieval and neo-Romanesque additions in the 19th century. Today, La Wrier and La Rambla are the city’s main commercial arteries. There we can see notable buildings such as the 17th century Town Hall, which includes architectural elements added later. At the intersection of these two streets, Plaza Santa Ana, we can visit the Baroque church of the same name. We can also visit other notable buildings such as the 18th century House of Caputxines and the Regional Museum of Maresme, housed in a Renaissance building. Modernism has left a special mark in Mataró, thanks to the legacy of architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, who was born in this city. This escape room has such high production value vert realistic and immersive as well as challenging. The only issue to me is that the organizer keeps insulting participants and it's borderline disrespectful.

Spanish trains 🚄Zone 1-6 only 10 euros for four months, and you can get 10 euros back after 16 rides! I took a train with my friends from Mataró along the coastline to Santa por de Mar. The town is not big, and almost no one goes to the beach in winter. Several people walked along the coast! #barcelona
