Free Bank Vault Museum in Mexico City
🏘️Museo del Banco
The Central Bank Museum of Mexico City is next to the Palace of Fine Arts (opposite the Porcelain House)
🎫Admission is free but each time slot has a fixed number of visitors
You need to get a free ticket at the exit and then wait until the specified time to queue at the entrance
You can also make a reservation online
📕The exhibits include the currencies used in Mexico over the years and some currency history in human history. I also saw Chinese knife money inside.
On the first floor, there are some interesting interactive works where people can stand in front of the screen and project their faces onto the coins. On the second floor, there are some artworks made of shredded banknotes.
The most interesting part is the basement vault. The ceiling and walls are all thick steel, just like in the movies. You need to queue in the basement to enter the vault to watch an animated introduction and then queue again to visit the safe deposit boxes. It is indeed a novel experience.
📷You can take photos with your phone (flash is not allowed), cameras need to be checked in
⚠️No hats or lighters are allowed inside
💬The interior of the exhibition is completely magnificent, and you can't help but sigh that it is indeed a bank museum
