The Blue Tower Islands National Park is located at the southern end of Krabi Province and covers an area of about 150 square kilometers. This national park protects the 15 islands of Koh Lanta and has many famous attractions, including the very popular Big Blue Pagoda, Pergola Island where many swallows can be seen nesting, Ha Islands, Nai Island, Lone Island, Lorno Island, etc. On the park's western coast, KoRokNok is gorgeous, with crescent-shaped bays backed by cliffs, beautiful coral reefs and shimmering white sand beaches. Camping in KoRokNok and nearby KoHa is permitted, subject to approval from the Blue Towers National Park Headquarters. On the east side of Big Blue Pagoda, KoTalabeng has some striking limestone caves that tourists can visit by kayak. Scattered nearby are sea-based villages in the Andaman waters. The villagers are called "Chaolay", which means sea gypsies. They fish in various islands and mainly rely on crustacean seafood for their economy. Most of the houses they live in are built for zero hours and will be demolished with the next migration, which can be described as "living by water".
