Mount Pulag (2928 MASL) is the highest peak of Luzon and the 3rd highest mountain in the Philippines (next to Mt Apo and Mt Dulang-Dulang, both in Mindanao).
It is a dormant volcano. 🌋
The entire mountain is believed to be the home to the tinmongao spirits and is the sacred resting ground of the souls of the Ibaloi people and other ethnic peoples in the area.
Mt Pulag is the natural habitat of the dwarf bamboo and the Benguet pine. It also has many species of birds.
Mount Pulag is mainly famous for its "sea of clouds" and its view of the Milky Way which attract many tourists. On February 17, 2024 there were supposedly 600+ people awaiting those phenomenon on the peak. If crowds are not what you want to experience in the mountains, you have to avoid weekends and public holidays.
