# Kurodake Ropeway is one of the must-see attractions in Daisetsuzan National Park. It only takes 2 minutes to drive from our hotel to Sounkyo Hot Spring Street and take the cable car, which is super close. It only takes 7 minutes to get from Sounkyo Station to Kurodake Station. The window seat overlooks the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains. 🚠 The round-trip ticket for the Kurodake Ropeway is JPY 2,600 per adult. There is a cable car every 20 minutes. 🏂 If you are a skier, Black Mountain would be a good choice. There is a ski resort just above Kurodake Station. You can experience skiing from early November to mid-May. 🗻However, this time we only climbed to the fifth station of Kurodake (1300m above sea level) in the Daisetsu Mountains. There are two floors of observation decks at Kurodake Station, and the highest one feels colder. If there is a strong wind day, there may be a chance that it will not be open. The feeling of being at a high place is very different. Although it is a vast expanse of white, the scenery is very magnificent. 🍜There is a レストハウス on the 2nd floor of Kurodake Station. The cafeteria offers ramen, soba, udon and other dishes made with local ingredients. 🍨While waiting for the cable car to return to Sounkyo Station, I had the challenge of eating snow rice cakes in -12 degrees. It's so hard that you can't eat it with a fork, so you have to put it in the indoor heater to bake it before you can eat it (laughs) ☕️Back at Sounkyo Station, you can go to Black Mountain Coffee by Columbia for a cup of coffee. I really like this kind of wooden coffee shop. The coffee seems to smell better. ❄️I saw the frozen waterfall, but I just had to take the stairs to the observation deck and there was no way to go up. Finally, because it was starting to look like a snowstorm and driving was too dangerous, we returned to the hotel to soak in the hot springs. . . #2024wish Amidst the enchanting landscapes of Kamikawa, Hokkaido, my mid-November hike to Mt. Kurodake left an indelible mark on my memory. The trail unfolded beneath a tapestry of fiery autumn hues, with crisp air and a faint scent of pine accompanying each step. As I ascended, the panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and alpine meadows revealed the true splendor of the region. Reaching the summit of Mt. Kurodake, I marveled at the serene beauty that surrounded me. The memory of that breathtaking vista, juxtaposed with the tranquil stillness of the mountains, etched itself into my soul. In 2024, I wish to go there again, to relive the magic of that November hike and embrace the untamed allure of Mt. Kurodake.
