Shizuoka Prefecture's Mount Fuji World Heritage Center.
A trip to Tokyo is a must👍🏻
The architecture of the museum is beautifully designed
The exhibits inside are also very nice and beautiful
A comprehensive understanding of Mount Fuji
I love this design
It allows visitors to walk up the slope
Curved projection screens
Displaying images of Mount Fuji's four seasons from various angles
Walking slowly gives a sense of pilgrimage
While appreciating the natural scenery of the mountain
I like the shadows of the climbers
They seem to be walking with us
When I took a picture of my own reflection
It looked like we were together
Then I saw the mountain view from the 5th floor right in front of me
That was the observation deck, wow, it was so stunning
Very fortunately at that moment
The clouds dispersed and the top of Mount Fuji was revealed just in time
It was an impressive moment

Shizuoka, a small city at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan, is so much fun!!
When you come to Japan, you must not miss this small city - Shizuoka. Shizuoka not only has the magnificent Mount Fuji, but also beautiful beaches and hot springs. It is an ideal tourist destination and worth your visit!!
🚇Transportation: It only takes 90 minutes to reach Shizuoka by Shinkansen from Tokyo and Osaka, and the transportation is very convenient.
🍃Recommended must-visit attractions:
✔Mount Fuji World Heritage Center
Here you can not only enjoy the panoramic view of Mount Fuji🍃, but also the inverted Fuji building designed by Ban Shigeru, which is comparable to the giant red torii of the Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine, and it is magical and shocking.
✔Atami Sun Beach
Located in the eastern part of Shizuoka Prefecture, it is a good place to relax. Here you can enjoy the sun and beach, and feel the tranquility of the sea.
✔Izu Cactus Park
If you like animals, this is a good choice, and it is also suitable for taking children. There are various cacti and succulent plants🌿 in the park, as well as cute little animals.
✔Kisaki Coast
The steep cliffs are ria coasts formed by the cooling of lava flowing out during the eruption of Amagi Mountain and Omuro Mountain. You can overlook the Izu Islands such as Oshima🏝. The scenery here is picturesque and it is an ideal place to take wedding photos. Walking on the romantic path and admiring the spectacular scenery will definitely make you linger.
In addition to the beautiful scenery, the food in Shizuoka is also not to be missed. In Yaizu City, you can taste fresh seafood🦀; and in Fujieda City, you can drink authentic Gyokuro tea.

Mount Fuji World Heritage Museum
It seems that it would be better to visit this museum before climbing the mountain, as it might enhance the experience.
We visited it after descending, but it was still very impressive.
The museum is divided into a north and south building, each with two floors. First, you enter the north building to watch a film, which offers Chinese dubbing, and learn that Mount Fuji, while appearing to be a single volcano, is actually formed by the successive eruptions and overlapping of several volcanoes.
On the second floor of the south building, there is a corridor where you can see a large tent-like model of Mount Fuji that changes colors, which is particularly beautiful. You can also learn about the locations of the Fifth Station, Lake Kawaguchi, and other places.
The museum also has a café and a souvenir shop, and the outdoor environment is very beautiful.

Visiting the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre
We visited the Mt. Fuji Heritage Centre in early October. We took a 45 minutes train ride from Shimuzu station to Fujinoma Station, where a 10 minute walk led us to the Mt. Fuji Heritage Centre.
Entrance tickets were affordable at about 300 Yen, and you can get an amazing view of Mt. Fuji, if the skies are clear! Unfortunately for us, the skies were cloudy and we did not manage to get a look at the grandeur of Mt. Fuji, but the museum gave us a lot of historical information and facts about Mt. Fuji which you may find fascinating!
There is also a gift shop at the Ground Floor for any souvenir shopping 😊

A place to learn more about Mt.Fuji.
Very interesting “immersive” experience at the heritage centre. Inside, you get to walk up a circular slope, pretending to climb Mt.Fuji.
There are information along the way to read what it is like to really climb it. At the top, you can see the real Mt Fuji. It was cloudy when we visited there sadly. So it’s good to check the weather first before going.
The different types of rocks on display was interesting.
Staffs are very friendly and communicate english quite well.

I can see Mt. Fuji..
Me and my family love's to camp and one of the best place we visited is fumotoppara camping ground. We're mesmerized by the beauty of cone shape mountain with snow on top right in front of our tent. Feels so relaxing while the chilling wind blows, hearing the birds chirping and trees waving it's branches. Before going here you have to call for a reservation so you can have a place to put up your tent. They have also rooms to rent for a night, a house to stay or caravan hotel to rent if you dont have tent and want to stay for a night. Restaurant also is available and very affordable.

Beautiful scenery on the way to Shizuoka business trip.
On a business trip, I went to Fujinomiya and there were only two types of stores on the street: one selling seafood and the other selling fried noodles. I visited the Fujisan World Heritage Center and unexpectedly liked this attraction very much. The scenery and architecture are both beautiful! Just looking at the reflection of Mount Fuji makes me feel good! I don't know much about architecture, but I learned from the introduction of the lady in the museum that it was designed by architect Sakamoto. It's really beautiful~

Shizuoka Travel Notes
On my first visit to Shizuoka, I went to the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre. The weather was clear all the way, and my mood was great. The air here is really fresh, and the view of Mt. Fuji is beautiful and pleasant. Moreover, it has a strong artistic atmosphere. I happened to come during cherry blossom season, and sitting on a country road, admiring the cherry blossoms, was absolutely beautiful!

Fuji World Heritage Center
In order to check in at the Fuji World Heritage Center, we booked a hotel nearby temporarily. There was no reservation price at night, so I searched for nearby hotels online while eating and found the "Fujimi Fuji Kyu Hotel" very close by. The price for last-minute booking during the Golden Week was quite touching. The hotel is right next to the station, and the price for two people was over 15,000 yen, including parking (separate parking for 24 hours costs 1,100 yen). Next time, you can search for the hotel name and directly confirm the price by phone on the day. It will probably be cheaper outside of the Golden Week.
It takes about ten minutes to walk from the hotel to the Fuji World Heritage Center. The center opens at 9 o'clock. We finished breakfast and checked out just in time. We asked the front desk if we could park until 12 o'clock after checking out, and surprisingly we were told that we could, which saved us a thousand yen for parking in the surrounding area. We expect to finish visiting the World Heritage Center and the nearby Fujiyama Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine ⛩️ (said to be the landlord of Mount Fuji) in the morning.
During this season, it is recommended to stay near Mount Fuji to enjoy the view. Based on the past few days, Mount Fuji is not covered by clouds before 10am and after 5:30pm, while the rest of the time it is shrouded in thick clouds like a blanket covering half of the mountain.
The exterior of the Fuji World Heritage Center is designed in the style of a giant bamboo basket, with a spiral sea shell-shaped staircase inside. The interior exhibition hall is divided into six specialized areas, with a total of four floors including an observation deck. Along the way up the rotating staircase, there is a combination of projection technology and light art, introducing the history and scenery related to Mount Fuji. The view of Mount Fuji from the rooftop observation deck can be called a stunning sight, presenting Mount Fuji in front of you like a giant painting. If you find the right distance, you can capture the reflection of the ground and Mount Fuji, which is both real and illusory. If you only take photos, it may not be as stunning as a video, but the on-site experience is even better, giving you a feeling of being instantly immersed in a painting!
Ticket price is 300 yen per person, free for students below university level and people aged 70 or above (proof required).
