[2025 Matsumoto Attraction] Travel Guide for Mount Yari (Updated Feb)

#mountainhike The 3,180-metre-high (10,433 ft) peak lies in the southern part of the Hida Mountains (Northern Alps) of Japan, on the border of Ōmachi and Matsumoto in Nagano Prefecture and Takayama in Gifu Prefecture. By the time I went down the highway, I couldn't see the mountains because of the gas, but as I ran towards the Takamine Plateau, the clear sky spread through the clouds. When I went to the Komaxa Observatory about 30 minutes after climbing, I saw a view of the mountains of the Alps, including Mt. Yatsugatake. From the spear sheath, I was able to enjoy my favourite Mt. Asama, and if I walked along Mt. Outer Ring, I could also see the mountains in the Niigata, Gunma, and Tochigi. The wind was also calm, so we could have lunch while enjoying the scenery at the rock ridge.
