There are several ways to reach the observatory, including ropeway (1250 yen round trip), bus and of course by car . If you drive, parking spaces are available at the summit. Once at the top, go up to the rooftop of the observatory building for a 360 degrees view. The west side faces the ocean and is absolutely stunning at sunset. The other side overlooks Nagasaki City on the two sides of the Uragami River. The observatory building also has a couple of fast food restaurants for light snacks and drinks. You can't miss this place when visiting Nagasaki. You can enjoy the new three great night views. To get here, you can take the ropeway from Fuchi Shrine, use the slope car from the middle of Mount Inasa, or you can walk. Walking is quite tiring. Personally, I think it's easier to go to the middle of the mountain by car and then take the slope car up. However, for tourists, I still recommend the ropeway. With thousands of lights from buildings and boats shimmering below, you’ll see why Mt. Inasa is said to possess a ‘10 million dollar view’. We were a bit sceptical of its claims as one of the 3 great nightime city views but it is amazing. Sunset is best time but there are long queues then, so allow extra time if you want to capture the sun setting. Entrance is free at the observatory. #newyearnewtrip Going up to Mount Inasa in Nagasaki is easy. You either take the cable car up or the other option is the nagasaki mt inasa slope car. I would highly recommend taking the slope car as it is a cheaper alternative and it gives you the same paranomic views as the cable car. In case you are wondering this slope car is not some old fashion mode of transport but it is new and modern and fast. All it takes is 10 minutes and you will reach the top of mount inasa. The slope car is a shared cabin so you won't have your own privacy in a lone cabin. However, it is clean, comfortable and spacious and I love the views outside the slope car. This is good enough.
