Right across from the Ruins of St. Paul is Mount Fortress and the surrounding park area. Like the ruins, it's better to get there early to avoid the crowds. You can easily spend less than an hour talking a walk around the park and taking pictures of this historic fortress. Keep an eye out for the local cats, as a lot of them have made this historical sight their little playground. The ones I ran into were pretty shy, so I spent a few moments smiling at how cute they were and left them alone. Overall, this was a great visit to start the rest of my day. In the afternoon, we came to the nearby Golden Lotus Square to admire the golden lotus statue that symbolizes the return of Macau. The golden petals sparkled in the sun, witnessing the changes and prosperity of this city. Day 2: Nostalgic Old Street and City Memories Today, we stepped into the fortress and felt the ancient city walls and cannon remains, as if returning to the days when the city was guarded.
