#January travel support event Bali, where I went with my friend's family last summer I stayed in Ubud and Sanur in Bali for 4 weeks, and the most memorable places are Tegalalang and Monkey Forest in Ubud and the quiet yet leisurely beach in Sanur and the brunch I had with my friend while looking at the blue sea are vivid memories. Club Beach in Seminyak, where the red sunset was so beautiful, and surfing at Kuda Beach, where I experienced it for the first time with my child. There is no place that is not a memory. The natural interior of Bali, wherever I go was so touching. I miss the friendly smiles of the Balinese people. As I write, I am getting Bali sick. Monkey forest is a place must go in Ubud. There are many monkeys there. And there are many trees. I will come back to Ubud again in the future. Other places also very nice. Beautiful temples.

It feels like stepping into an actual forest. The monkeys here are not as notorious as the ones in Uluwatu but still be cautious of your belongings. The coolest thing is you can get a selfie with a monkey here on select days. Do check the schedules on the website. The entrance is beautiful with koi ponds on either side. Do visit this place with family in spring season. Weather will be perfect.

This mystical forest offers a unique opportunity to observe these cheeky primates up close in their natural habitat. We took our cameras and got some very nice shots and funny ones too. The opening hours are from 9am to 6pm. The entrance ticket is 80,000IDR on weekdays and 100,000IDR on the weekend. There is also a small fee for motorbike parking. If you are already in the center, you can easily walk there. The forest is quite big. We took our time leisurely and strolled around for photography, which took us about 2 hours. We went around 4pm and that was perfect because it was less hot. While the monkeys add a lively and interactive element to the visit, it's essential to stay cautious with personal belongings as they can be quite bold. There are some rules to follow to ensure safety for both the visitors and the monkeys. There are also some rangers in there to supervise and help you out if monkeys take your belongings or are acting too rowdy. Overall, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it when we decided to visit because I as worried it would be just too touristy. However, I actually had a great time! The monkeys are super cute and playful, they are captivating to watch, and great subjects for photography! If anything, the place is also a great area for a nice stroll. An incredible experience that shouldn't be missed when in Ubud. Despite the warnings about aggressive monkeys in the reviews, we found them surprisingly nonchalant as they passed within inches of us. Ironically, the only incident of 'bag snatching' we witnessed occurred just outside the enclosure, where a passing shopper lost her bright red bag to a mischievous monkey. We visited late in the day, close to 5pm, and found the monkeys very relaxed, as evidenced by my photos, seemingly ready for sleep. Entrance is 80,000 Rupiah per person on weekdays, though I understand it's more on weekends. In my opinion, it's worth every Rupiah; the expansive and magnificent grounds alone justify the cost.
