Here is an introduction to Yichang Moji Mountain Forest Park:
• Basic Overview: Moji Mountain Forest Park is located in the central urban area of Yichang City, south of the Yangtze River. It starts from Yiling Yangtze River Bridge in the east, extends to No. 12 Middle School in the west, and connects to Gezhouba. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the north and Jiangnan Avenue in the south, covering an area of 121 hectares and a planned area of 300 hectares. The park consists of two main peaks, Moji Mountain and Bijia Mountain, with six peaks of different sizes arranged in a line along the river. The lowest point is 43 meters above sea level, and the main peak, Moji Mountain, is 217 meters above sea level, making it the largest park in Yichang City.
• Historical Culture: Moji Mountain was formerly known as Gedao Mountain and Guodao Mountain, with a history dating back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It is the place where Ge Hong refined elixirs, Guo Pu built huts, and Yuan Song enjoyed the scenery. It has a profound historical and cultural heritage and is one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Ancient Yiling." It was also used as a defense fortification during the War of Resistance Against Japan, carrying the historical memory of Yichang.
• Natural Scenery: The forest coverage rate reaches 90%, with more than 300 species of plants from over 20 families, including citrus, cypress, camphor, and osmanthus, forming a beautiful forest landscape. The cliffs along the river, the overlapping green hills, and the interdependence of mountains and rivers, together with the beach, river, and ships, create a beautiful landscape painting.
• Leisure Facilities: The park is equipped with complete leisure facilities, such as hiking trails, bicycle paths, badminton courts, basketball courts, and more. There are also cantilevered viewing platforms, artificial landscape frames, a ring mountain greenway system, and characteristic roads such as Wujiao Road, Peach Blossom Road, and Luanshu Road, providing visitors with a rich and diverse leisure experience.
• Viewing Experience: Standing on the top of Moji Mountain, you can look down on the "Hydropower Capital" Yichang City to the north, look far to the Yangtze River and Yiling Yangtze River Bridge to the east, look forward to Gezhouba and the Three Gorges Mountains to the west, and browse the undulating suburban scenery to the south. It is the best viewing point to overlook the whole city of Yichang.
• Tourist Services: The park has multiple parking lots, rest areas, and dining spots, as well as a tour guide service center and a tourist information desk, providing parking, rest, dining, tour guide services, and tourist information for visitors, making it convenient for visitors to play.
