Mojiko is probably a place in Japan but very different from Japan. After getting off the station, you can feel the strong retro style🚂🚂Wander among the European-style buildings and feel the glorious days of the port. 🌟One of the three major ports in Japan🌟Moji Port faces the Kanmon Strait and was one of the important bases for international trade at that time. It still retains many Western-style buildings from the Meiji to the early Showa era‼ ️Of course you can’t miss the former Moji Customs Building, the old Moji Mitsui Club, the International Friendship Memorial Library, etc. 🏫🏫 Another experience you can’t miss when you come to Mojiko is to go to Shimonoseki’s 🌟Karado Market🌟 to buy sushi and then go to the beach to eat 🍣🍣 Take a few minutes of ferry⛴️⛴️ from Mojiko Pier and arrive at Shimonoseki on the other side ( The ferry runs every 20 minutes), and then walk a few minutes to Karato Market Everyone likes to buy sushi there and then enjoy it slowly on the seawall outside the market. It is indeed very comfortable and unique🍣🍣But you must arrive before 3pm from Friday to Sunday‼ ️Otherwise the shops in the market will be closed · 🚞【How to get from Hakata to Mojiko】🚞: Take the JR Sonic from Hakata Station to Kokura Station, then transfer to the JR train to Mojiko Station. The whole journey takes about 1 hour⏰ 🌟【Recommended check-in points in Moji Port】🌟: ✅Mojiko Station: A very old station in Kyushu, built in 1914. The interior and exterior of the building are retro and elegant, so it’s great to take pictures! ✅Kyushu Railway Museum: Displays the history and culture of Kyushu trains and appreciates old trains with different characteristics🚂🚂A must-go for train fans! ✅Karado Market: Located in Shimonoseki on the other side of Moji Port, the boat ride only takes a few minutes. Buy sushi at the market and then sit on the beach to eat🍣🍣 ✅Blue Wing Moji Bridge: Japan's only pedestrian-only blue jumping bridge, which will rise at a fixed time ✅Strait Plaza: There are many shops to buy souvenirs by the lake🛍️You can also sit down and enjoy the sea breeze and sunshine☀️ ✅Featured European-style buildings: the old Osaka Merchant Marine Building, the old Moji Customs House, the old Mitsui Club, Kitakyushu Municipal International Friendship Library 👉🏻The whole place of Mojiko + Shimonoseki is not big. Mojiko Retro Observation Room
Address: Japan, 801-0853 Fukuoka, Kitakyushu, Moji Ward, Higashiminatomachi, 1−32 Getting there: You can take train to the Idemitsubijutsukan Station and the observation room is just about 200meters away. Highlights: The Mojiko Retro Observation Room is located 103 meters above ground, providing a wonderful panoramic view of the Kanmon Strait, and even Shimonoseki City. This is the tallest buiding in the area, and hence the best view you can get over the Kanmon strait! 🤩 The observation room is also installed with state-of-the-art equipment, including digital telescopes that magnify an image up to 17 times.
