In Penang, you’ll be surrounded by loads of places to eat and different types of cuisines but the one cuisine you need to try is the Nonya one. Nonya food is a pretty accurate description of love at first bite. We ordered various kuih muihs as appetizers and for the mains, we ordered the nasi kuning with curry, Penang laksa, toasted roti with curry and a side of Pai tee. Each dish was yum! The shop is located strategically within the city square so you can get there by grab or on foot.#foodie #deliciousfood

Have a walk through history when you enter through the main door. the kitchen where all the kueh are made still run (go early to see the action). This place has been operating since 1933. We love the kueh as it is still very authentic and freshly made in the morning. as this place has become a tourist must visit place, the menu is made for the tourists, thus the kueh are bite size for sampling, do order extra pieces if you want a proper tea break. you can also have a proper lunch here as they have expanded the menu to include local staples like Laksa and Nasi Lemak.

We really enjoyed the kuehs here. They were mini-sized and perfect for tasting the large variety of kuehs they had to offer. My recommendation would be the curry puff which was supper yummy ! The assam laksa was on the milder side and suited us. The seating area was cooling and comfortable and we also liked the decor here. You also get to walk through the kitchen and see the kueh preparation process. Would definitely return!
