🇯🇵 Nagasaki | The No. 1 cherry blossom viewing spot in western Japan. Omura Park
Omura Park is the only spot in Nagasaki selected as one of the top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. In addition to cherry blossoms, there are 200,000 to 300,000 irises blooming in the park in early summer. It can be said to be the largest iris garden in western Japan. The sea of flowers, the ancient city ruins and Omura Bay behind it are truly pleasing to the eye.
⭐️Tranquil garden
When you enter the park from the main gate, you will see this seating area with a particularly strong pastoral style. The environment is pleasant, and if you come at the right time, you can also enjoy the hydrangeas. It is a great place for a picnic. If you walk further inside, you will see a large lake with many pavilions by the lake where people can stop and take a rest. Many people also like to chat and enjoy the scenery in the pavilions.
⭐️Omura Shrine
The regional shrines in the park are smaller and less populated. Although there was no shrine maiden, there was a friendly uncle selling amulets, which was a down-to-earth and warm place.
⭐️Ancient city ruins + flower sea shooting location
If you walk from the main gate into the park, it may take a long time to find this location, but in fact there is a tree-lined path next to the main gate that you can walk directly to. The scenery of calamus blooming all over the garden at the end of May is very spectacular, and with the ancient city ruins as the background, it attracts many photography enthusiasts. Every year in early June, an iris festival is held, filling the entire park with people!
⭐️Seaside location
Next to the sea of flowers is the beach, where you can see Omura Bay. At dusk, many high school students pass by here, filling the place with a youthful and warm atmosphere.
