Trip to Hamburg 🇩🇪
It was a short weekend trip to Hamburg, Germany 🇩🇪
We started our trip by visiting Rathaus (Hamburg City Hall). It was built between 1886 and 1897, this Neo-Renaissance building serves as the seat of the government of Hamburg. It stands on over 4,000 oak piles. We joined a guided tour to explore the grand halls and learnt about Hamburg's political history.
📍Rathausmarkt 1, 20095 Hamburg, Germany.
💰Around €5 for guided tours.
We also strolled around St. Michael's Church (Michel). A symbol of Hamburg, this Baroque church was originally built in the 17th century. It has been rebuilt several times due to fires and wars. We climbed to the tower for stunning views over the city and the harbor.
📍Englische Planke 1, 20459 Hamburg, Germany.
💰€5 for the tower
I would also suggest you to check out a restaurant, Brücke 10. We tried out the famous Fischbrötchen (fish sandwich with pickles, onions, and remoulade), shrimp rolls, and crab salad 🥗
📍St. Pauli-Landungsbrücken 10, 20359 Hamburg, Germany.
💰 €5-€15 per sandwich.
Besides, we also visited Miniatur Wunderland. It is the largest model railway in the world, showcasing incredibly detailed miniature landscapes, including cities, countryside, and famous landmarks. Definitely worth your visit 💯
📍Kehrwieder 2-4/Block D, 20457 Hamburg, Germany.
💰€20.50 for adults.
We also explored Speicherstadt (Warehouse District). A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is the largest warehouse district in the world, built between 1883 and 1927. It's known for its red-brick buildings and neo-gothic architecture. We spent some time to walk around and explored the unique architecture.
📍 Speicherstadt, 20457 Hamburg, Germany.
Last but not least, if you at looking for a place for dinner, you can try out Das Dorf. They served mainly German Traditional Cuisine. We ordered Labskaus** (a traditional sailor's dish with corned beef, potatoes, onions, beetroot, and a fried egg), Matjesfilet (marinated herring), and Grünkohl mit Pinkel** (kale with smoked sausage) which were all very delicious.
📍Glashüttenstraße 20, 20357 Hamburg, Germany.

Germany's most modern Harbour city
#myhiddengems
During my extensive travels around Germany, i found architecture and development to be the most common of themes. Hamburg is no exception with its green spaces, modern architecture and waterways. The world's largest concert hall is right here and if you are in Germany as a tourist. Most likely you have heard of the very popular Miniatur Wunderland, that too is right here in this brilliant city.
As expected, the transport is very efficient in Hamburg. About the sights and vibe, there is something calming about the waterways, the parks and the trees. The streets and public spaces were extremely well maintained and clean. A sight peculiar to cities in Germany, the urban street art and graffiti contrasted so well The two large central lakes are surrounded by parks and picturesque houses. The river and canals are lined with formidable, yet fascinatingly beautiful, red brick warehouses that rise out of the water. This city's vibe is an experience in itself. A pro tip for those who will consider wandering here in the future. But the Hamburg pass, a transport card with unlimited transport included and discounted entries to attractions. It was totally worth it for me.

Despite being billed as the largest model train in the world, the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg is really much more than just a toy train layout. It is the largest model train in the world, with over 15,400 meters of track and 1,040 trains. Built on a massive scale, covering 1,490 square meters, with more planning (will be double this size when completed). Highlights include areas dedicated to the United States, Scandinavia, and Germany, as well as airports with planes actually taking off, all illuminated by more than 385,000 lights and containing some 260,000 tiny (and unique) human figures. Since it is one of the most visited attractions in Germany, you can avoid long waits by booking your tickets online.
