I went to "Kisosansen National Park" in Kaizu City, Gifu Prefecture (((((((っ･ω･)っ I couldn't go to the observation tower because of COVID-19, but the flowers were blooming beautifully and I enjoyed a walk ⸜(* ॑꒳ ॑* )⸝ Located in the center of the Chuo Suigou district, the park is known for its observation tower with a panoramic view of the Kisosansen River, the "Tulip Festival" where tulips decorate the park in spring, and the glittering illuminations in winter. There are large flower beds decorated with seasonal flowers in spring and autumn, large playground equipment that is very popular with children, a large lawn plaza where you can relax freely, seasonal events including experience events, and a farmhouse in the ring that builds houses characteristic of this region. #springblossom Public park with hundreds of free parking slots splitted into two parking lots. The main event in my opinion is held during the spring, when a huge area is covered by colorful tulips. There are some cherry trees to make the scenery even more beautiful. In December the park holds a Xmas illumination event. A negative comment is that during these events, leave the parking lots is stressful and might take around 45 minutes due to the local traffic limitations.

#thingstodo Charming country shrine in Kaizu with colorful and varied marketplace alongside it. Chiyobo Inari, called “Ochobosan” by locals, is a shrine devoted to the fox god Inari, deity of good harvests and perhaps bounty/business in general. You can make offerings of fried tofu tied with straw at the main shrine (this is said to be the god’s favorite food), or there is a case to light votive candles. There are also fortunes in Japanese. The expansive, often bustling marketplace has lots of restaurants, foodstuffs, talismans, souvenirs, and clothing items for sale. I recommend buying tsukemono— traditional pickles— with as few additives as possible (the turmeric-dyed yellow pickled whole daikon radishes are awesome), dried shiitake mushrooms, and fugashi (old-fashioned wheat gluten candy). Like many tourist spots in these parts, there is a Mamekichi shop with bean and nut-based snacks, which are reliably stylish, colorful, and delicious. This is easiest to access by car, but you will likely have to pay to park close. Cycling from Ogaki is also possible, but it’s a long way.
