A short trip to the mountains with the kids, 2 hours from Wuhan
It feels like I'm just surviving in the midst of my kids' constant noise, and on the rare weekend, I just want some peace and quiet. I don't want to go to the park or the mall, and even the music in the car is a burden. I want to jump into nature, avoid the crowds, and just quietly look at the sky and the earth. The mountains and temples are the best choice. If a place has mountains and temples and you can stay overnight, there's no reason not to go! 😬

📝 There aren't many reviews on the website, but I really like it. The service is good, the rooms are good, the food is good, and the price is reasonable! We stayed in a garden standard room on the first floor. Each room has a large courtyard, some with tables and chairs, some with swings. You can call the hotel in advance to reserve. The hotel has a restaurant, which is a bit expensive, but the environment, taste, and portions are all great. There are also other small restaurants nearby, within walking distance.
😃 The hotel is very new, the facilities are great, and the rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. There's a bathtub and tatami mats, which the kids love!
😃 If you contact the hotel in advance, you can drive directly up the mountain, which is convenient for the elderly and children.
😃 The camping-style platform is very comfortable, with a nice view and not many people. It's great for tea and chatting.
😃 The staff are friendly, attentive, and respond quickly.
😃 The restaurant has a great view, and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious! You can order lunch and dinner in advance, and they'll let you know when it's ready.
😃 The view from the top is really uplifting, and seeing the stars at night is a pleasant surprise! 🤩
🙁 The rooms with courtyards are on the first floor, and the courtyards are in a sunken area behind the camping platform, so you can't see the view down the mountain. If there are people on the platform, they can see directly into your room, so there's less privacy.
🙁 The air conditioning is average, and the main unit is close by, so it's a bit noisy.
🙁 There's no open parking lot, and cars are parked one-way on the mountain road below the hotel.
During our two days at Dongfang Mountain, we didn't use the car. We didn't have any specific plans, so we just wandered around. We visited all the nearby attractions. The whole trip was not tiring at all, and it was suitable for the elderly and children. After we got back, a friend told me that making a wish at Dongfang Mountain is very effective. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity, but during our two days and one night there, the two kids were very well-behaved. I guess it was the environment, so I consider my wish fulfilled! 😬
