This is the roadside station "Salmon Park Chitose" in Chitose, Hokkaido. In addition to salmon, there are many local agricultural and marine products on sale, and there are also plenty of lunch boxes and food courts. But the highlight is the selection of salmon-related foods. From sweets and souvenirs, frozen, chilled and room temperature products, dried goods, canned and bottled goods, there is such a wide variety of products that it's like a salmon theme park. The facility is operated so that "like the salmon that were born and raised in the Chitose River returning to their mother river, they want to come back again." It takes about 7 minutes by train from New Chitose Airport to JR "Chitose Station". It takes about 15 minutes on foot from JR "Chitose Station" to "Salmon Park Chitose", so you can stop by on your way back from sightseeing before stopping by the airport. \\Spot// This ramen shop is located in the food court at the roadside station Salmon Park Chitose in Chitose, about a 15-minute drive from New Chitose Airport. It opened in late August 2023, but the ramen was very impressive. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but the Moromoko Ramen topped with a mountain of corn was even more impressive than the photo, with more corn toppings than I expected. The taste was very delicious, and it was a great combination of corn + butter + miso ramen! I recommend it. \\Tourist Spots// I went to the roadside station Salmon Park Chitose, which was just renovated on August 26, 2023. It's easily accessible from New Chitose Airport and is an easy place to stop by. In the newly renovated store, there are shops selling freshly baked melon bread, shops selling strawberry sweets, seafood featuring salmon in honor of Salmon Park, and ramen with a great impact, and the food court alone was full of new things that made me excited. There was a shop selling goods next to it, and they were also full of souvenirs that featured salmon. It was a lot of fun, as there were many souvenirs that you don't often see even at New Chitose Airport. It was a wonderful roadside station that I would like to stop by here when I go to Hokkaido in the future.
