[Okinawa] Kadena Town: View the U.S. military base from the renovated observation facility
Roadside Station Kadena is a rest stop for drivers on the way from Naha to northern Okinawa.
On the first floor, there is a food court, souvenir shop, and farm produce shop, and in the educational exhibition room on the third floor, there are exhibits that teach you about the base town, such as manga, screenings, and noise and odor experience devices.
You can also get a panoramic view of Kadena US military base from the observation deck on the fourth floor.
I recommend the third and fourth floors.
The educational exhibition room is free, and you can learn about the history of Okinawa and the base through exhibits and experience devices.
From the observation deck, you can see what the base is like, and you can experience the takeoff and landing of US military planes and the realistic noise they make.
However, please note that planes often fly on weekdays, so be careful when you go.
Roadside Station Kadena is not just a service area, but you can also experience things.
If you are heading to the north, please stop by.
