2025 Iwate District Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in May)

This is "Komakusa", a restaurant inside Anekko, a roadside station in Shizukuishi, Iwate Prefecture. I visited during Golden Week. It seems to be popular because of the hot spring facilities, so it took a while to find a parking spot, but we were able to get into the restaurant right away because it was past peak hours. It was almost full, but the seats were spacious and we were able to enjoy ourselves without any noise. I didn't have high expectations because it's a roadside station, but I was very satisfied✨The food was very delicious😊 Local chicken hiyashimen ¥950 Himetakeiri Inaniwa udon ¥950 Shrimp and himetake tempura Inaniwa udon ¥1400 The prices were also reasonable. (There was even a high-quality Iwate beef steak!) We went to Makibaen, a leisure facility at Koiwai Farm. You can find Koiwai Farm's beef and yogurt in vending machines after a hot spring bath and in supermarkets. This farm, which I've always wanted to visit, is located here in Iwate Prefecture. Makibaen also has a park where children can play and horse riding facilities, but there are also various gourmet spots within the park, from ice cream and yogurt to ramen, so be sure to check them out. #DomesticTravel
