#thingstodo Mentai Park Kannami is an amazing experience. They don't charge an entrance fee, similar to the Wasabi shop/farm next door. The cafeteria exhibits their fresh fish eggs on pasta, meat buns, and even ice cream! Yes, you heard me right, fish egg flavored ice cream. While that may sound odd, don't knock it until you try it. My wife who hates fish eggs loved the ice cream. On the second floor there is a foot bath onsen to soak your weary feet if you've been walking all day. I know we were tired. The first floor has tons of merchandise for sale, and a plethora of interactive exhibitis to educate you about fishing and the eggs. Unfortunately, the text was only available in Japanese. Overall, a wonderful location and inexpensive leisure. Please stop by, im so glad we did.

A friend saw my trip to Izu's Mintaiko school, pm asked me if it is worth going, in fact, although this place is said to be Izu, but actually it is very close to Mishima City, which is Hakone further down some, because our route has Hakone, Shizuoka Shimizu and Izu Plateau, so this Mintaiko meeting workshop, basically will pass through, driving on the way as a resting point really good, plus inside can take pictures, fast food, children's play facilities, soup, things to buy, and no parking, free admission 😉. The two-storey workshop is actually a Mintaiko Comprehensive Center. The ground floor mainly sells different kinds of Mintaiko and Mintaiko subsidiary products; there are also fast food, selling Mintaiko ice cream, pasta, rice balls, steamed meat buns, etc... Many of the food made with Mintaiko tastes really good😝. In addition, the ground floor is mainly for tourists must-visit study workshop, inside is not very large, but concentrated want to see want to play part; in addition to pops for photography, there are several interesting photo spots, children can sit and watch mentaiko cartoons, play with colorful knowledge wall, walk to the end will see a group of staff in the workshop doing how to extract mentaiko, then sort, packaging and other work.
