This memorial bridge was unveiled by the then King Rama VII on April 6, 1932. In order to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Chakri Dynasty and the 150th anniversary of the opening of Bangkok, the locals in Bangkok generally call this bridge SaphanPhut, at midnight. To the east of the bridge there will be a lively night market and a midnight flower market.
