Inner Mongolia • Meiligendada Nature Reserve • A Great Place for Hiking During the Holidays
✨✨✨
The Meiligendada (Mongolian for "intelligent") Nature Reserve nestles at the southern foot of the Wula Mountains in the Yin Mountains. It is a natural scenic area featuring numerous giant spherical granite mountains, waterfalls, and plant landscapes. The reserve boasts several steep canyons, including Meiligendada Canyon, Shibaoketu Canyon, and West Canyon. The mountains are magnificent, unique, deep, secluded, and precipitous, with the main peak, Dahuabei, reaching an altitude of 2,324 meters. The scenic area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and an autonomous region-level nature reserve.
⏰[Travel Time] Depart around 10:00 am. This time allows you to avoid getting up too early and also bypasses the peak crowds. Perfect!
🚗[Transportation] If you have a car, self-driving is the best option, taking about 40 minutes to arrive. No car? No problem! You can take a direct bus, which is convenient and fast!
🍽️[Lunch Recommendations] Once you arrive, start with a hearty lunch! We highly recommend Meiligendada's spring water fish and the authentic local farm dishes. They're guaranteed to tantalize your taste buds! 😋
🎟️[Ticket Purchase Strategy] Buy tickets to enter the scenic area. If you don't want to walk too much, you can choose the combined ropeway + ticket option, which saves time, effort, and is fun!
🚠[Ropeway Experience] Be sure to experience the ropeway here. Sitting in the cable car and overlooking the entire valley is incredibly beautiful, and you can take amazing photos!📷
Hiking⚠️⚠️⚠️
➊ Do not hike alone.
Outdoor activities are not just simple tourism; they involve exploration. You may encounter various problems on the trail, so it's best to find an experienced team to travel with.
➋ Plan ahead.
Whether or not you have a leader, it is recommended to understand the route in advance and download a map if necessary. Most importantly, plan your time to avoid walking at night.
➌ Equipment to prepare in advance
Essential equipment: A pair of sports shoes or hiking boots (ice cleats in winter). If possible, wear sweat-wicking, breathable, and windproof clothing.
