#January Good Places 2025 I thought Penang only had local snacks that were delicious, but I didn't expect that even Hong Kong-style tea is so delicious! Located in Penang near CS Malaysian University of Science, Maxim Dim Sum Pekaka is a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant run by locals. Recommended by the hotel counter, we made a special trip to have breakfast tea, wanting to taste the authenticity of Penang's port point. Maxim Dim Sum Food House has two hours, morning dim sum 6:30-15:30 and dinner dim sum 17:30-21:30. The dining environment is clean and bright. #MalaysiaTravel #Penang #FoodHouse

This is my favourite place for dim sum in Penang. I like their Har Gao (shrimp dumplings), Siu Mai (pork dumplings), century egg porridge, custard bun, deep fried shrimp rolls and Jian Dui (deep fried glutinous balls with peanut or bean paste filling). They are now expanded and have more seating to accommodate the increasing customers. Service was fast. The ordering process was easy and hassle free, just get the card and choose your dim sum. The waitress will tick the pricing for each item. Interestingly, they use a robot to serve drinks, how cute! Other than dim sum, they also serve main dishes like noodles and rice. Highly recommended. This restaurant is always crowded, might have difficulty to find parking. You may need to park further away and walk here. The restaurant is a local's favorite - if you go over on the weekends, you're bound to be waiting in a long queue, so be early! Our usual order consists of fishballs, century egg porridge, egg tarts and steamed rice rolls. But their fried noodles dishes are really good as well! Do try their steamed baos - the bbq roast pork is delicious. Want to bring back the delicious dim sum and have it anytime you want? No problem!
