Mawei is a small town about 20 kilometers southeast of Fuzhou City, located on the north bank of the Minjiang Estuary. According to legend, there is a stone in the area, shaped like a horse, with its head facing the Luoxing Pagoda and its tail facing the town, hence the name of the town. As the cradle of my country's modern industry and the birthplace of the navy, the horsetail was once famous. Mawei Shipyard is the largest shipbuilding base in Fujian Province. The thousand-year-old Luoxing Pagoda standing on the riverside is the symbol of the gateway to the Minjiang River. 10 kilometers southeast, there is the King Kong Leg Scenic Area, one of the seven scenic spots of the Minjiang River. Climbing to the top of the tower, you will have a panoramic view of the port and the development zone.
