[Perth, Australia] Matagarup Bridge 🌉
A new icon in eastern Perth 🆕
Matagarup Bridge, completed in 2018, is approximately 400m long and 72m high at its highest point, spanning the Swan River to connect East Perth and Burswood. This allows you to walk to Optus Stadium on the Burswood side 🖐️
From the center of Perth, the Red: Matagarup Bridge and Yellow: Trafalgar Rd Nile St bus stops on the CAT bus are the closest and easily accessible 🚍
The bridge is designed to resemble the flapping wings of a black swan, the state bird of Western Australia, and the bridge is spacious, so it's recommended for strolling 👍
From the Perth side, you can see the Crown hotels, and from the Burswood side, the buildings in the center, across the river, which gives a very open feeling ✨
There is also an activity where you can climb up the bridge, so if you want a slightly more exciting experience, why not try it 😁
This time, I visited on a sunny morning, but it seems to be popular at night when it is lit up. Unless there is an event at the stadium, the time flows quite slowly, so spend some time relaxing while enjoying the nature around you😊
Visiting period: May 2023
