This edition's destination hotel theme: Stay in Xie Ke's aesthetic utopia.
Overall, it was a great staycation experience. The natural, rustic design concept and soft, muted ambiance briefly soothed my daily workhorse impatience.
Public areas: The first floor of Liang Home houses a boutique store. Beyond that, the indoor common areas are quite small, but there's a charming European-style garden outside—though it can get a bit too sunny in summer. Floors 2-4 are guest rooms, each uniquely designed, offering new surprises at every turn.
Amenities: The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area, with strong water pressure in the tub and just the right temperature. Bath salts and a soaking bag are provided. Both sides of the bed have charging ports, and the drawers contain steam eye masks and earplugs. Toiletries are from Aesop, the hairdryer is Dyson, and there’s even a bag of Lugaitu bath products, a signature brand from Aranya. A small wooden box in the room holds two books by Hermann Hesse. If you open them at dusk, the slanting sunlight blends with the warm glow of the rattan table lamp, creating the perfect staycation vibe.
Service: The welcome fruit was fresh, delicious, and beautifully arranged. Before check-in, the hotel sets up a service group chat, and any inquiries are promptly addressed.
Downsides: The hotel warned in advance that opening windows would invite mosquitoes. Even with doors and windows closed, a few still made their way in. Lowering the AC temperature helped, but it led to water dripping from the unit in the entryway.
