Peter's Cathedral 🏰 It's an old cathedral in Munich near Marienplatz. They say you can see the view of downtown Munich from the observation deck. I only saw it from the outside, but I think it's also good to go up to the observation deck! 2. Marienplatz🏘️ There are many things to see in Marienplatz. In particular, the show at the clock tower was amazing. There are many churches centered around this square, and these churches actually hold services on weekends. I think the best advantage of free travel is being able to walk around every nook and cranny. ㅎㅎㅎ I also really like the various things to see as you go from the main road to Marienplatz! I recommend taking some time to take a leisurely walk around and look around👍👍 3. Viktualienmarkt🥕 It's a market right next to the square, and it sells food, and it seems like a lot of locals actually come here to shop. Residenz Museum✨ You wouldn't know it from the outside, but it was really fancy and big inside. I went in the morning and looked around for 2 hours, but I gave up halfway through because I was tiredㅋㅋㅋㅋ I didn't think there would be such a fancy palace in Germany, but it was a surprise! There are viewing rooms on both sides of the entrance, and you can store your bags before entering. 5. English Garden⛲️ It's a large park in the center of Munich. It's great for a walk alone, or to bring snacks or beer with friends to eat and drink! It seemed like many Germans come here for a picnic when the weather is nice. There are people surfing and people playing in the water, so if you're interested, enjoy it 😆 Personally, I think 1 night and 2 days in Munich is enough! We travelled to Munich when we were travelling last December to Europe. It was the Christmas festive season and thus we wanted to visit a Christmas Market. Thus, what better place to visit than the one at Marienplatz. The market was quite big and have beautiful decorations and a big spectacular Christmas Tree. The majestic buildinga around it made the place look even more beautiful.

Visited Marienplatz which is Mary’s Square in English. It is located in the city centre of Munich Germany. This new city hall was built between 1867 and 1909 with old looking neo-Gothic style. The old city hall is to the east in the direction of the valley which is almost 400 years old. Their Lord Mayor, city council and city administration has been residing in the new city hall. This is good starting point for a visit to the Bavarian capital. There are many stores and restaurants around Marienplatz. It is a major attraction if you are visiting Munich.

Went to Munich! Stayed at the Marienplatz area (which is Munich's city area) and it's very handy as you are in the central area. Easy to walk around - alot of shops and beautiful buildings! You see buildings like these commonly that it's insane. If you go to Munich - definitely stay in the Marienplatz area. There's so much to do and see over there.

I like that our tour guide made our group take a train going to Marienplatz and as we exited the stairs we are greeted with the views of the old town hall. The square is home to beautiful architectures, monuments, and historic buildings; as well as a center for many shops, restaurants and events. I love strolling the streets with the old and new town halls and wouldn’t mind spending a day or two here with its rich offerings. As we visited in October, a festive month for Munich as it celebrates the Oktoberfest, we saw many locals too in dirndl attire. Marienplatz (square) has been at the centre of the city since Munich was founded by Henry the Lion in 1158. It was the point at which all of the new city's most important streets met and for centuries it was the centre of Munich's life. The main attraction is the double glockenspiel which is a must see. The Glockenspiel is the clocktower of this building. The clock show goes on at 11:00, 12:00 and 17:00. Beautiful building and so huge. It's difficult to get the entire building in one photo.
