Hiking in Naturaliste Park, Margaret River
Hiking in Naturaliste Park is fun and relaxing and the view is majestic. Recommended to drive there instead of going with tour so you have more time to explore and is about 3 hours from Perth city. You can oversee the ocean from the top as well as walking distance to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. Just be careful as the road could be quite rocky with many branches and best to walk in pair. Occasionally you might see one or two kangaroos hopping by. #hiking #margaretriver

Lake Cave, Margaret River, Perth 🇦🇺
#wheretogo
When in Perth, Australia, I had the opportunity to go visit Lake Cave, and it was truly magical.
Located in Margaret River, Lake Cave is a magnificent chamber located deep beneath the earth's surface. Once inside, journey into this ancient attraction to marvel at its crystal formations which have been growing over almost a million years.
Well worth a visit, as it’s really a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Tip: wear comfortable sturdy shoes.
My rating of this attraction: 5 ⭐️ out of 5!

Pony riding at Jesters Flat Equestrian
#wheretogo
We brought our 4yo to ride a pony at Jesters Flat.
Jonho, the pony, was her ride and he was very cooperative.
We were very surprise that we were allowed to bring the pony ourselves around the track and we just need to follow the path. Mind you it’s in the forest. Everything was very quiet and we can hear the birds chirping.
They didn’t limit the time and you can go around the path multiple time but the adults were so tired walking on the terrain!
There are horses if you are keen to do horse riding too.
I highly recommend this place for a great pony or horse riding experience.

This cave
This cave is breathtaking and magical . Once you enter into the cave , is like you are entering into another world. Felt like in one of those Indiana Jones’s movie with thrill and excitement . There are over 300 steps to head down to the bottom of the cave so make sure you have a good stamina to climb back up.

Western Australia Road Trip (2/4)
This time we went south!
destinations:
pic 2&3: The Big Orange
pic 4-7: Busselton jetty
pic 8-9: Canal rocks
pic 10-12: Quinninup falls
pic 13,14: Jewel cave
pic 15, 16, 17: Cape Lewin light house > Hamlin bay > Margret river chocolate factory.
The trip was made around September, the winter period of Australia. This was a 3D2N trip due to time constraints from our study schedule but overall still enjoyable.
Our first stop was the big orange where we get to see many orange plantations as well as taste some of the orange infused chocolate that the place sold. We can go up to the tower as well.
Our second stop was Busselton Jetty. Admission to the jetty cost about $5 and it’s a pretty long walk to the end. When you reach the end, it feels surreal because you’re so far out into the ocean. On that day we were caught in the rain because there was no way we could run 1 km back to where our car war since we are so far out the ocean 🤣🤣🤣. THANK god there was this small souvenir shop which we hid in.
our third stop was canal rocks and we were so lucky to be able to see and walk across the bridge before it got destroyed by the way is a few months later… It was the most beautiful sight of mother nature.
after that was a hike to a waterfall. We went through bush areas and once we emerge from the dense plantations, we were greeted with wild Wallabies prancing around in the fields and also wide open areas that just makes a person feel free. REFRESHING!!!
The fourth destination was Jewel Cave. There are actually a lot of caves around the area but we chose jewel cave because it was the most convenient to go to. This is a guided tour about an hour where the guide brings you around the cave and out.
The fifth and sixth destination was towards the end of our second day. in the morning we went to the Lighthouse and we got to go up to the Lighthouse and experience the strength of winds up to 150km/h!!! it also offered a stunning view of the coast! after that, we decided to catch the sunset by the beach. We heard that we could see stingrays at Hamelin Bay so we went. But the currents were a bit too strong by the time we arrived.
On our final day, we checked out and headed to the chocolate factory. The most famous chocolate factory in the Margaret River region, the Margaret River chocolate factory. They offer free samples as well as a wide variety of chocolate with insane flavours infused in them. I bought a few bars, took a few samples… Maybe more than a few… And we went back to campus.
overall, the trip was enjoyable. But regrettably we only had a short period of time to do a lot of activities. A lot of driving was involved and that’s the time was lost. But would definitely go again!

The many famous wineries and breweries
Perth is not complete without visiting the many boutique wineries and craft breweries at Margaret River. Margaret River is a tourist attraction that is located about a 3hrs drive away from the city of Perth where you will drive along the beautiful coastlines overlooking the Indian ocean.
This is a place not to be missed as it is known for its award winning wineries and beautiful beaches with great surfs. We went to watershed wineries which sadly close down due to covid but there are still many other wineries in the area where you will be able to do wine tasting tours, or visit the wineries on eco friendly bikes or maybe try some unique flavoured craft beers.
This is not to be missed when one is visit Perth. Plan your drive towards Margaret River and maybe stay a night or 2 along the coastal stretch while sipping your newly bought wine. This is just amazing!
