Maojiabu is a scenic spot developed in recent years, located near Yanggongdi. Except for holidays, there are not many tourists on weekdays. It is named because the village entrance was covered with thatch in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which was full of wildness. It is also the starting point of the famous "Ancient Incense Road", which is the only way for Hangzhou pilgrims to go to Tianzhu from the city.Farmhouse and wetland are the keywords of Maojiabu. The century-old Shangxiang Ancient Road connects the West Lake with the villages in this area, making it an ideal place for tourists to visit ancient sites and explore the mysteries. Maojiabu is divided into two parts, upper and lower, separated by Longjing Road. On the west side of Longjing Road is Shangmaojiabu, where places for eating and drinking are concentrated; Du Jinsheng's former residence in Xiamaojiabu is also worth a visit.A more natural way to play here is to watch birds on the waterfront. There are few tourists on the south bank of Maojiabu, and the reed marshes are dense. Wintering birds like to build nests here. High-powered telescopes and telephoto lenses are good tools for bird watching.
