A trip to Mount Heng in Nanyue.
At 8:00 am on September 22, I walked 227 meters from my residence in Hengyang to the bus stop and took bus No. 118 to the central bus station. I took a taxi to the Mount Heng Scenic Area in Nanyue. The scenic area is located at No. 37 Yanshou Road, Nanyue District, Hengyang City, Hunan Province. Among the "Five Sacred Mountains", Mount Heng is located in the south, hence its nickname "The Unique Mountain of the Five Sacred Mountains". The Nanshan in the well-known Chinese idiom "May you live as long as Nanshan" refers to Mount Heng. Mount Heng is a famous Taoist and Buddhist holy land. Four of the "Thirty-six Caves of Heaven and Seventy-two Blessed Lands" of Taoism are located on Mount Heng. The two genuine sarira of Buddha Sakyamuni are kept in the Diamond Sarira Pagoda of Nantaisi Temple on Mount Heng. Mount Heng Tourist Area was rated as one of the first batch of national 5A-level tourist attractions. After purchasing tickets on the second floor of the visitor center, I took the scenic bus to the mountain at 10:00 am and went straight to Nantianmen. It was summer at the foot of the mountain and winter at the top. The wind was strong and the fog was thick. I took a photo at the "May you live as long as Nanshan" scenic spot against the wind. The photo effect was not good. The weather was so bad that I couldn't even see 10 meters. As I didn't wear enough clothes, I bought a thick raincoat to block the wind and rain. After a quick tour of the Nantianmen scenic spot, I queued up for the scenic bus to go down the mountain. I got off the bus at Nantaisi Temple and visited the Magic Mirror Terrace. Chiang Kai-shek's official residence was located here, with a secret passage hidden in the wardrobe. After visiting the Magic Mirror Terrace, I continued to take the scenic bus down the mountain. The road was steep and winding. At 11:00 am, after passing many "S" curves, the scenic bus stopped at the foot of Xianglu Peak on Mount Heng. I arrived at the Nanyue Martyrs' Shrine. The Martyrs' Shrine, surrounded by pines and cypresses, was particularly solemn and awe-inspiring. It is one of the earliest and largest memorial sites of the Anti-Japanese War in China. It is also the only large-scale cemetery built by the National Government on the mainland to commemorate the martyrs of the Anti-Japanese War. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit. At 12:00 pm, I took the scenic bus to the exit of the visitor center, ending my trip to Mount Heng in Nanyue.

South Yue lazy sunrise strategy - Chenxi Inn.
🌈🌈🌈Coming to Nanyue Hengshan, the only mountain among the five mountains, tourists mainly have two purposes, worship and watch the sunrise🌄 Many tourists climb for five hours just to reach the top of Hengshan at an altitude of 1300, and have a panoramic view of the mountains.
For lazy people like me who are out of breath when climbing mountains, the only way to get to the top to watch the sunrise🌄 is to stay in a homestay at the top of Hengshan🏨, which is recommended by local relatives, and it is indeed a great place to watch the sunrise.
First of all, Chenxi Inn has an excellent geographical location. It is located on the east side of Shangfeng Temple. You can also take photos with Shangfeng Temple as the background from the viewing platform on the fourth floor📸 It only takes 8-10 minutes to walk from Chenxi Inn to Zhurong Peak. I can go back and forth to Zhurong Peak several times a day to chase the sunrise🌄 and sunset, so happy!
I personally tested that there are the fewest tourists between 7:30-8:00 in the morning and after 18:00 in the afternoon (Zhurong Peak closed), so you don't have to queue to take photos.

Come to the top of Hengshan and stay in Chenxi Inn. It is the first time I have chased the sunrise🌄 so close. I am amazed by the beauty of nature. The rising sun on the top of the mountain is as beautiful as a poem, with rays of light shining everywhere, which is fascinating. At that moment, the sunrise on the top of the mountain is like a miracle, breaking the silence of the night and bringing the throbbing of life! I won't allow my friends to miss this treasure land of Chenxi Inn!
The view restaurant is like floating in the sea of clouds. Sitting by the bed and having a meal is refreshing. It is worth mentioning that the dishes at Chenxi Inn are all Hunan-style Xiang dishes. Not only are they delicious, but the ingredients are also natural, such as local chickens, self-raised crucian carp, and self-made lard-fried vegetables🥬。。。It's like eating my mother's cooking!
The service of Chenxi Inn is also great. You can find room and restaurant service staff at any time. The hotel🚗 has the only scenic area pass, which can be picked up from Nantianmen to the hotel (buses are only allowed to stop at Nantianmen). When we came up, tourists who were climbing from Nantianmen couldn't help but stop and say, "Wow, how did this car come up?" Hahaha😊
