Throwback to 2019 before Covid hits
We checked-in at the lounge, having been offered refreshments while we waited, and were told that one of our two rooms had been upgraded to a corner suite. It was huge! Essentially, it was like a small apartment and the views across the river and of the Pearl Tower were stunning. The second room was also wonderful, with a fabulous view and a great circular bath! Both rooms were well- appointed and in excellent condition. I can't fault them.
The time allocations for food and drink in the lounge are very good - in that brunch was served until 1pm, followed shortly by afternoon tea - alcohol was available at this time too. The lounge was large with a clear designation of dining tables and then a lounge area with sofas and coffee tables. Again, the lounge staff were outstanding in their service and friendly approach.

Mandarin Oriental Shanghai - Room

Throwback to 2019 before Covid hits
Shanghai Mandarin Oriental has a large scale with 362 guest rooms and suites. The basic room type is also 15 pings, which is very good. This time, I stayed in the Executive Mandarin River View Room.
The room is about 18 pings, which is super spacious and comfortable the view of the room facing the Huangpu River and the Oriental Pearl Tower is super beautiful.
There is a large round bathtub for soaking and watching TV. The biggest advantage of the executive room is that you can enjoy the executive lounge. Eat simple lunch, afternoon tea, cocktail dinner and breakfast in the executive lounge.

Shanghai.
The Shanghai Pudong Mandarin Oriental Hotel has a combination of Chinese and Western styles. You can lie in bed and watch the Bund in this hotel in Shanghai. I love it~ The Shanghai Pudong Mandarin Oriental Hotel is close to the Huangpu River and "contracts" the beautiful night view of the Bund on the opposite bank. You can also look at the Oriental Pearl Tower. There is almost no pick in the scenery. It's really fragrant to cry~ Shanghai Pudong Mandarin Oriental Hotel
Hotel location: 111 Pudong South Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai
Room:
The hotel has 362 rooms and 210 full-service executive apartments, combining fashion, comfort and service. The smallest room area is also 50 square meters, and some bed types can directly face the Oriental Pearl and watch the prosperous night view
Hotel design:
The design of the hotel combines Chinese and Western styles, adhering to the elegant style of Mandarin Oriental, which is particularly elegant in the bustling urban jungle of Pudong. The overall decoration style still adheres to the elegant Chinese style of MO, not the kind of trendy and noisy lobby on the first floor. The mosaic wall
And the crystal chandelier is very eye-catching
Hotel facilities:
There are 13 independent spa, fitness, and beauty suites. The fitness center also recruits members. The constant temperature swimming pool is suitable for swimming, and the gym is very suitable for running.

Shanghai Pudong | Mandarin Oriental MO!
| Mandarin Oriental MO! Shanghai Pudong | Mandarin Oriental MO
Shanghai Pudong Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the third MO in China after Sanya and Guangzhou, opened in 2013. A luxury hotel on the Huangpu River. The hotel is located in the center of the Pudong Financial District, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, with more freedom and comfort. Hotel service |
If you just talk about the service, it is impeccable. During this stay, almost every MO employee will smile and greet you sincerely and kindly ask guests what can serve you or say good morning to you. I wanted to go to the gym at night to see their facilities. I saw a night cleaner and she would smile and ask me, do you need any help? I said to take a look, and the aunt would lead me for a while and take me to see.
There is a discrepancy between the room type on the official website and the actual room type before check-in. Patiently communicate and apologize to the guests, and provide other solutions, and do his best to allow guests to achieve their original expectations. You won't leave with regret, this must be given to MO
The service is lacking. When you want to take a taxi out, please ask the concierge to help you take a taxi. First ask the guests where they want to go, but when you help the guests take a taxi, you should respond to the guests whether they have taken a taxi, and tell them how long it will take. It's not for guests to wait, I think this can be slightly strengthened. There is a problem with the taxi app. The driver went around and returned to the hotel entrance to deal with the solution with the front desk, but the meter was hit and then discussed there, and it would feel that this MO and the taxi party were very irresponsible, and the current situation seemed to be shirking responsibility. , But there is no solution. Hotel catering |
The drinks at Hui Bar are very good. I ordered a cocktail (Shanghai style-sweet but very smooth) and a mocktail (Shanghai Memory-It is indeed a memorable one). The welcome snack at the bar I personally think it can be replaced with a more memorable local one. The overall service and environment are very good, but the bartender is very shy, I think he can be more confident.

I'll stay at this hotel next time I'm in Shanghai. It's good and not expensive!!!
Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai
||Conclusion: This is my least favorite Mandarin Oriental hotel so far.
Location: It's located in Pudong, quite far from the business district. You can only get there by car.
Hardware: The mosaic background and chandelier in the lobby are pretty. The room is decorated in dark tones, which is quite calm. The hardware is well maintained.
Service: There's almost no highlight. Some places may not even meet the standard. The service in the lounge is average, and the food quality in the lounge is average.
Catering: The food at Yong Yi Ting is not bad, but the lounge is not good. I don't remember the breakfast.
This MO in Shanghai is basically an average student in all aspects among many luxury hotels, and it is at the bottom of the MO family.

Mandarin Oriental! A well-deserved five-star hotel!
I wanted to try the Pudong Mandarin Oriental, which has received many negative reviews, for a long time. As one of the five Mandarin Orientals in mainland China, many people think that this one in Pudong is the worst. After trying it out for myself, I hope this post can give everyone a relatively objective evaluation.
To get straight to the point, the location is good, located on the south bank of the Huangpu River, not far from the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Pudong Art Museum. There is a ferry nearby where you can take a boat to the North Bund. In fact, the Mandarin Oriental is not on the street. It, the Mandarin Oriental Executive Apartments, and the Huangpu River Minghui are all enclosed in a semi-enclosed space. Vehicles need to go up a small slope to reach the MO plaque, and then drive on the internal road, so at least the privacy of the hotel entrance is very good.
The doorman opened the door and carried the luggage when I got out of the car. Because there were many people at check-in, I was taken directly to the single front desk on the second floor for check-in, and at the same time promised that the luggage would be delivered to the room later. I stayed in a Mandarin River View Room this time, which is about 60-65 square meters. The room is great. From the layout to the view to the hardware, it is basically the consistently high standard of MO. Almost all the arrangements are very reasonable and considerate. The space is used efficiently and it definitely does not make people feel cramped. I personally appreciate the design of the bathtub. The round design gives people a very comfortable and free feeling. From now on, I can't stand the small bathtubs in Marriott hotels (just kidding). The bedding is perfect, it has the familiar MO feel. The toiletries provided are a full set of Ormonde Jayne, which smell okay.
In terms of hardware, the hotel has been open for more than ten years, and it is inevitable that the furniture will be old. But having said that, among the many hotels of this age, the overall maintenance of Pudong MO is quite good
BlueSkies44
Please stay at this budget hotel when you come to Shanghai.
Shanghai | Mandarin Oriental ||
The service is so good and the room is very clean. The bed is particularly comfortable. I stayed in a river view room for three nights. I like this kind of bathroom with strong privacy and a hotel with a full-length mirror.
Location: There are many office buildings around, you can walk to the Pujiang River, it is a very quiet place, if you are not here for tourism but for relaxation, it is a good choice.
Service: Standard service, there are many tourists on the day of check-in, the executive lounge is handled, and the standard CI process is not surprising. The lounge staff is online and there will be foreign friends (staff) at each time period, which is rare in other hotels.
Room: Full of business style, the floor is low but the river view is enough. The hotel TV 10 years ago can also be cast on the screen to give a good review. The spare parts used are very novel, the toothpaste is bagged, the lotion and mouthwash are all metal bottles. The water in the room is all bottled in glass, and the owner is willing to spend money. There are two sets of bathrobes and give a good review again.
Catering: There are many people for breakfast, the variety of products is not much but they are all exquisite, but I personally think that the size can't support so many guests in the room, causing the dessert area to queue up for meals, and it is not recommended to eat during peak hours. I ate two bites hastily and went to the breakfast restaurant in the lounge. Two people ordered a bowl of beef noodles. This is definitely the most authentic beef noodles I have ever tasted. There are very few people in the lounge, and basically no guests come here to eat. I went to Yongyiting that night, maybe I couldn’t taste the fine bran, the dishes were delicious, but I personally didn’t feel so amazing.
This is a typical business hotel, not recommended for couples or travel. The public areas on the first and second floors are beautiful, which is not in line with the business style of the room. This price is relatively cheap among a group of hotels in Pudong. If you are on a business trip or staycation, you can choose.

Magical MO Pudong
Truly amazing hotel! A beautiful treat for the eyes. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was draw dropping with a beautiful view of the Hanpu River. After a long flight it was great to take a bath with a view. Impeccable attention to detail: bath salts, hand cream, sweet treats. It is very close to the Pearl Tower and Bund, I took a pleasant evening walk. It’s a very special place. Thank you MO Pudong ♥️ #FanOfMO

Can we say that the Mandarin Oriental room type is like a mini Disneyland?
Besides Disneyland, I've found a new place in Shanghai for kids to have fun 🙋
The Mandarin Oriental Pudong has unveiled a new 'Nautical Adventure' themed suite, bringing a treasure ship indoors, complete with a super fun spiral slide. It's within walking distance to the Disney Store, so how is it not a mini Disneyland?
⚓️ Enjoy a ship-themed slide in a luxury hotel
As a global luxury hotel, Mandarin Oriental is known for its excellent service and strategic locations. This newly launched family suite is a rare find among luxury hotels.
More importantly, this family suite is not just about setting up a tent or plush toys in the room 🤭
The 11th-floor room type was renovated earlier this year, and all rooms feature bunk beds that look exactly like pirate ships, making it perfect for families with multiple children. It also comes with a spiral slide, finally fulfilling a child's dream of sliding down from their bed 🤩 This immersive nautical-themed room can only be compared to the Disneyland Hotel in Shanghai. However, in terms of location and convenience, the Mandarin Oriental in the heart of Shanghai definitely has the upper hand.
⚓️ The entire room is a playground for kids
Moreover, the room is filled with details: the shoe cabinet is a ship's wheel that needs to be turned to open, like a mysterious treasure chest; the bathroom amenities include not only Atelier Cologne but also children's themed amenities, including nautical-themed bathrobes and slippers.
The carpet in the room is a play mat where you can play chess, roll dice, and piece puzzles with your kids! The ship's wheel decoration in the room can also be turned, facing the Huangpu River view, making the child feel like a brave captain ready to set sail at any moment.
The room also offers customized afternoon tea, with adorable monkey-themed desserts that are very delicious 😋 Additionally, the suite includes breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails at the executive lounge 🎁
⚓️ Enjoy the best view in Shanghai
Mandarin Oriental is located in a prime area, unique in Shanghai, situated by the Huangpu River. You can see the Oriental Pearl Tower from the hotel. If you're traveling to Shanghai with kids, the nautical-themed suite with its unbeatable view is definitely the best choice.
Moreover, the location of MO is very convenient: within walking distance to the Disney Store, Pudong Art Museum, and Shanghai Aquarium. The malls include IFC Mall and Super Brand Mall. In the evening, you can take a stroll along Binjiang Avenue, with the Bund right across. After dinner, you can ride bikes with your kids and enjoy the breeze along the river 🌬️

Excellent experience. Although the hotel is located in Lujiazui, it's not very close to the subway station, about a 10-minute walk. the hotel provides a car service maximum 2km. The rooms are spacious, and the river view rooms offer nice scenery, although it's not the hotel with the best view in the vicinity. The surroundings are very quiet, making it perfect for evening walks and running. The breakfast options are abundant. The staff members are highly professional and never disturb the guests. Highly recommended their spa as well.overall IT awesome

Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai: Glimmering with luster, yet not without its flaws
||Due to the perfect experiences at the Guangzhou and Shenzhen branches, along with the frequent surprises from the two Hong Kong stores I often pass by, I placed the Pudong Mandarin Oriental on my must-visit list for this trip to Shanghai.
The biggest takeaway from my stay is that a perfect hotel experience often requires a good brand management team, a good owner, the right timing and location, as well as a bit of luck for the guest.
Opened in 2013, the decor now seems a bit dated but is still comfortable. The gym and swimming pool in the basement are nothing too astonishing. Indeed, after more than a decade, the hotel shows its age. Perhaps I was unlucky during my stay; the men's changing room had poor drainage and a strong smell, the reading light couldn't be completely turned off at night, there was no doorman upon arrival, breakfast was entirely buffet with no a la carte options, and upon checkout, two extra breakfast charges were mistakenly added to my bill.
But the flaws do not overshadow the virtues. The service was still good, and issues were promptly addressed, making me still feel like I was indeed staying at a Mandarin Oriental.
In summary: Behind the Pearl Tower shines a glimmering luster, by the side of the Huangpu River, there are virtues amidst the flaws.

Classic luxury vacation on the banks of the Huangpu River in Shanghai: Shanghai MO
When vacationing in Shanghai, you must stay on the banks of the Huangpu River. This time I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Shanghai, a low-key luxury hotel favored by many celebrities and big shots. Oriental Pearl Huangpu River view room, double rich buffet breakfast, enjoy the bustling urban river view vacation experience of the Bund! The room with the view of the Huangpu River is very charming both during the day and at night. The room is very comfortable, the antique fans in the lobby and the colorful landscape, the swimming pool gym and spa center are well equipped. The buffet breakfast is very rich, and when you go out, there are various yacht clubs on the banks of the Huangpu River, as well as various high-end restaurants such as Pujiang Hui. You can stroll along the Huangpu River and feel the taste of Shanghai.

There is always a surprise
hotel's -58 degree boudoir, in addition to the steaks that everyone likes to eat, I also recommend: eat a few high-value and particularly delicious dishes:
fat but not greasy foie gras with strawberry salad and butter bread, especially suitable as a small pre-meal; white asparagus soup, drink the taste of spring; as a main dish, sea-fried sea bass fillet with melon salad, It is especially tender and juicy, and it is perfectly matched with basil sauce and smoked tomato puree to make the taste more rich. The dessert chocolate ball with hazelnut and lemon Caska is also very eye-catching. The lemon combines the sweetness of chocolate, everything is just right. .
I am A fan
Enjoyourtrip.
Shanghai Pudong Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which holds the Shanghai cat eagle's top spot all the year round, is not like the top of the list in Beijing. The NO.1 in Shanghai has never changed, and it has also defeated the incomparable Pudong Ritz-Carlton. Let my imperial people have a strong curiosity.
The overall stay experience of the two days, the service is excellent, it is worthy of the name. At the front desk, Zhao Manager freely upgrades the administrative Wenhua River View Room, giving a late check-out at 2 pm, which is satisfying. By the way, I have experienced Michelin star courts and boudoirs, all of them are great. Next time I try Shanghai's well-known Executive Lounge~
room to see the Pearl Tower is still very clear, the round bathtub is absolutely good, the taste of the products is very suitable for men, the pineapple cake is absolutely good, the slippers are very comfortable. Truffle jade is sold and pushed. The beef tenderloin is good for dinner and the meat is tender. Eat too many good things and exercise in the middle of the night. The pool is 24 hours, and some people are on duty and moved. The best partner for exotic juices, almond horns! Do not regret it.

The spa at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel is notoriously good. The nearest to the sister is the Spa at the Pudong Culture Oriental in Shanghai. The sister is of course going to experience it. The five-star spa is filled with sand marble and butterfly motifs, plus a light oak floor and a bamboo forest outside the window. The fresh and tranquil environment is perfect for a relaxing and relaxing spa experience!
You can also enjoy the beautiful Huangpu River view and the beautiful city scenery through the spacious floor-to-ceiling windows in the spacious bathtub of the room. It is definitely an experience you can't miss. If there is no quiet place in the bustling city, then the Shanghai Pudong Mandarin Oriental Hotel on the banks of the Huangpu River is a surprise.
Local friends must experience the Presidential Suite. The 788-square-meter room occupies most of the hotel's 25-story space and also comes with a wine cellar and wine bar. You can see the beautiful scenery in the private roof garden of the Presidential Suite.
hugo_enen.
Compared to the bustling Bund, hidden in the top restaurants between the Bund buildings, while enjoying the food and enjoying the view, it is the best of both worlds. At the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Pudong Shanghai on the banks of the Huangpu River, you can enjoy the bustling landmarks of the Magic City.
The entrance to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai is a very private glimpse of Binjiang Avenue. The average person can't stroll around here, and it is in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle on the other side of the Bund.
Every time I go to Shanghai, I will be eager to read the authentic Jiangnan flavor of Pudong Mandarin Oriental. Although every new Michelin restaurant will have different sounds, no matter whether it is a rigorous judging or a local Shanghai native, it will be praised by the three-star Michelin star for three consecutive years, and the color of the orthodox Jiangnan dishes, regardless of Nothing can be missed.

Located in the financial center of Pudong, @, low-key and restrained. Once again, you can stay at the Executive Wenhua River View Room and enjoy the beautiful views of the Oriental Pearl and Huangpu River. Within 2 km, the Mercedes-Benz sedan is delivered free of charge, and 2 free laundry services per day are absolutely intimate! As night falls, soak in the huge round bathtub, use the French Atelier Cologne hotel, pour a glass of red wine, and sneak into the charming night view of the beach.
