[2025 Luqa Airports] Travel Guide for Malta International Airport (Updated Feb)

If you’re flying to Malta in 2025, you’ll be arriving at Malta International Airport commonly called Luqa Airport. It’s a small airport but well designed with a spacious feel and quite a lot of seating. Whenever I’ve flown two or from Malta airport it’s always been a relatively stressfree experience, going through security is usually very quick. Welcome too the beautiful island of Malta. One of the best places I have ever been too in the summer. The sea is so blue and clear and always warm.

I love love Malta. Great place to go with the family contains so much history and culture. Shame we was only there for a week could have stayed there forever.

While flying budget airlines, sometimes you have to get to the airport at wee hour. However, thanks to airport lounges, now I can always have a good rest and enjoy my hearty breakfast while waiting for the next flight. My Ryanair flight from Malta to Marseille would depart at 6.50 a.m. and after witnessing the summer travel chaos at several European airports, I would prefer to be at the airport at least 3 hours before the departing time. La Vallete Club is the airport lounge at Malta International Airport and it is open 24 hours (believe it or not, but not every airport lounge is open 24 hours). There are plenty of seats and they are comfortable too! There are also many services available such as meet and greet, special occasion package, chauffeur service, etc. and you can book them in advance. #fallingforfall #malta #loungeexperience

Malta's only airport is located in a central location and connected with public transport (bus). There is a shop and vending machine to buy your bus passes at the arrivals hall. For departure, there are a couple of drinking water outlets after security, so bring your empty bottles. If you have spare time, check out the observation terrace on the top floor which also has a fun display showing the history of this airport.
