The Melaka Heritage Centre, located in the heart of Melaka, is a must-visit destination for those eager to delve into Malaysia’s rich cultural and historical tapestry. As a UNESCO World Heritage City, Melaka boasts a fascinating mix of Malay, Chinese, Portuguese, and Dutch influences, and the Heritage Centre serves as a gateway to understanding this unique cultural blend. The center showcases traditional architecture, artifacts, and exhibits that tell the story of Melaka’s rise as a vital port city during the height of the spice trade.
Visitors to the Melaka Heritage Centre can explore its well-preserved buildings that reflect traditional Peranakan and colonial designs. The exhibits not only showcase the city's history but also its unique fusion of cultures, including the traditions of the Baba-Nyonya community. Guided tours provide deeper insights into the artifacts and the city’s historical significance.
Strategically located near other major attractions like Jonker Street, A Famosa, and the Melaka River, the Heritage Centre is perfect for those seeking a comprehensive understanding of the city’s past. Heritage center, Jonker Street in Melacca 🌞
Jonker Street runs through the heart of Melaka, and is the main Chinatown street. It is famous for restaurants, bars, antique stores and it's very lively street food heaven during the weekends. The evening food market starts from Friday to Sunday 6pm to 12pm.
Definitely you should not miss out on a visit to a Peranakan Heritage museum. This museum is also more known as a Baba Nyonya Heritage museum.

The historic Middelburg Bastion (Kubu)
#malaka Middelburg Bastion (Kubu Middelburg) was one of nine bastions (1/9 Kubu) of the Fortress of Malacca, situated in the Malacca City centre near Malacca River/ Sungai Melaka.
▶️This bastion was built during the fortification of Dutch in Malacca in 1660 and this historic bastion has been restored including its cannons by State government. It’s name is in reference to the city of Middelburg of Dutch and is open for visitors.
✅ Located nearby the historic red square and at the mouth of Malacca River which the bastion now is a popular place for photographs, clean and blends well with the surrounding historical area.
▶️ Entrance fee is not required.
The bastion is open, clean and have a stair to climb over to the top of bastion.

Jonker Street Malacca Malaysia
Jonker Street is a cool street name full of traces of historical heritage. It will be spoiled by rows of buildings with classic architecture and interesting stories behind them. Located in the Chinatown area, Jonker Street is often referred to as Jonker WAlk, Jalan Hang Jebat, or Antique Street.
The reason why Jonker Street or Jonker Walk is called cool is because there are several old buildings that were built in the 17th century and are still standing today. The architecture is still thick with a retro atmosphere, which is heavily influenced by China and Portugal.
Jonker Street was transformed into a tourist culture street on June 19, 2000. This is a big step by the Melaka city government to help locals and tourists know about the multi-cultural aspect of this place. #malaysia #malacca #malaysiatrip

The Beauty of Melaka ✨
Melaka, one of Malaysia’s key heritage cities is home to Nonya food and historical landmarks. Walking along Jonker Street, I found myself being overwhelmed by the beauty of the buildings. You can really feel the history in the air plus the beautiful street art makes the walk under the sun worthwhile! Getting there - you can hop on a bus from the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur for an hour and half’s journey (depending on traffic) and take a day trip as we did! For those planning to stay overnight, you’d get to enjoy the various night markets as well! #newyearadventure

A Night at Malacca Heritage
No idea where to go during this school holiday? Let’s go to Malacca, an unique historical place in Malaysia. Malacca has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Jonker Street, Fortress of Malacca, St Paul’s Church, Christ Church and Stadthuys are the famous tourist spot, located next to each other.
I love colourful night lighting and the trishaw ride together with their music played.

Melaka heritage centre
Melaka and George Town, historic cities of the Straits of Malacca have developed over 500 years of trading and cultural exchanges between East and West in the Straits of Malacca. The influences of Asia and Europe have endowed the towns with a specific multicultural heritage that is both tangible and intangible. With its government buildings, churches, squares and fortifications, Melaka demonstrates the early stages of this history originating in the 15th-century Malay sultanate and the Portuguese and Dutch periods beginning in the early 16th century. Featuring residential and commercial buildings, George Town represents the British era from the end of the 18th century. The two towns constitute a unique architectural and cultural townscape without parallel anywhere in East and Southeast Asia.

Amazing central square of Melaka
The central square of Melaka is like a giant history lesson with a splash of vibrant colors. A red-hot square with Dutch colonial buildings dating back to the 17th century. It's like a big red party with the Stadthuys, Christ Church, and a clock tower as the main attractions. You can't miss it! You'll feel like you've traveled back in time and landed in a beautiful and fabulous place.
