[4 hours from Seoul] A rare cherry blossom viewing spot in Korea - Malisan Provincial Park
If you don’t want to go as far as Jinhae to see the cherry blossoms, there is a small spot between Jinhae and Seoul.
📍 Malshan Road Park
Address: 255 Malsan-ro, Ahn-gu, Ahn-gun-town, North Jeolla Province
Admission fee
3000 won (adult)
2000 won (student)
1000 won (children)
Admission includes a visit to the Malshan Pagoda Complex and Jintang Temple.
How to get there by public transportation:
The bus starts from the Zhenan long-distance bus and gets off at Malshan in the north or Malshan in the south
40 minutes one train, takes about 15 minutes to arrive
Due to the location in the mountains and lower temperatures, the cherry blossoms usually open later than in the city.
It takes about four hours from Seoul
From Busan, it will be much closer
Personally, I recommend joining a day tour, including lunch and a guide, and a visit to Jeonju Hanok Village after cherry blossom viewing
Self-driving is also possible, but it was the peak season for cherry blossom viewing, very easy to be jammed, plus the longer drive, so it is more recommended to sign up for a day tour
The park is located in Jinan County, North Jeolla Province, and its two peaks resemble the ears of a horse, hence the name Malsan. It is the filming location for the Korean dramas "Rooftop Prince" and "49 Days". The entire cherry blossom road is 3 kilometers long, and your guide will lead you to the most beautiful places to take pictures. Along the way, there are many authentic Korean stalls selling snacks.
