Jinan Travel Maisan (馬耳山) is located on the border between Danyang-ri, Jinan-eup and Dongchon-ri, Maryeong-myeon. It consists of the western peak of the rocky mountain, Mobong (母蜂 [Seobong]: 687.4m) and the eastern peak, Bubong (父峰 [Dongbong]: 681.1m), and was originally called Sokgeumsan, but was renamed Maisan because it resembles the shape of a horse's ear. On October 16, 1979, an area of 16.9㎢ was designated as a Jeollabuk-do Provincial Park, and on August 24, 1983, it was designated as Jeollabuk-do Local Monument No. 66, and on October 31, 2003, an area of 160,159㎡ of Maisan was designated as National Cultural Heritage No. 12, and is managed by the Jinan County Governor. This time, I climbed Mt. Maisan with my close friend Migels. The course that goes straight up to the summit takes 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, since you can't see the Mt. Maisan Tower if you take this course, it's only recommended for those who climb the short course.
