Back in HCMC for the second time this year, I was ready for some serious unwinding. My date picked this hotel, and I wasn’t convinced at first—the photos looked a bit dated. But as soon as we stepped in after a relaxing massage, I was absolutely blown away. 
The Christmas decorations had just gone up, transforming the space into a cozy, magical wonderland. The room? It felt like I’d walked into a grand mansion—bright, spacious, and impeccably clean. The complimentary minibar was a nice touch, though we opted for drinks from the convenience store just behind the hotel. 
The bed was so soft and comfortable, it's almost impossible to get up in the morning. The room came with slippers, soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, body lotion, comb, toothbrush, bath salt, loofa and more! Soaking in the bath first thing in the morning and last thing at night is my favourite thing about this hotel. 
The only downside: the glass bathroom setup was a little awkward, especially since the toilet faces a window, and the TV was laggy with limited options to turn off Vietnamese translations. 
The pool was so cute and cosy but it closes quite early. There was also a steam room for a post-swim warm-up and a gym with everything from treadmills to free weights. 
The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the stay feel even more special. If you’re visiting HCMC, this hotel is a must-try!

Unexpected luxury! I could tell this was going to be a 5 star hotel given the pictures of the hotel exterior and interior on Trip.com, but the class level of this hotel kept pleasantly surprising me throughout the stay. The lobby was rather grand, spacious with a piano, lobby lounge and drop off area. A little essence of European vibes. Welcome drinks provided as well. The room was comfortably big, which is a luxury when staying in the capital. Had the interior design of modern day 5 star hotel rooms, balancing together with subtle classic European looks with the furniture, walls and toilet. Breakfast was amazing. The kind where the spread is delectable and large. Vietnamese, western, sushi, pastries, desserts, fruits. Too many choices. First hotel I’ve seen with a system to deliver your live stations food to your table (eggs, pho, bahn mi). The little things: A fresh rose in the room (I thought it was fake till I saw the staff with a trolley full of watered roses in the corridor). Quality amenities. Branded soaps. Quality toiletries (except shaver). Bath salts. Room amenities given in a paper bag when requested. Last time, I booked a stay at Mai House, a hotel with a name that's remarkably easy to remember. This newly opened hotel in District 1, close to Little Tokyo, is quiet, safe, and comes highly recommended. The cost-performance ratio is exceptional, equivalent to a five-star, and the best part is that it's new, beautiful, and very user-friendly, haha. The hotel is charming, comfortable, and chic without being pretentious. The outdoor pool is brand new, spacious, bright, and clean. The rooms are neither too small nor too large, with a comfortable and elegant atmosphere in a stylish white color scheme. It avoids the dim and insecure feeling often found in places with yellow and black hues. The fitness center is equipped with very new and adequately sized facilities, unlike some old five-star hotels in Vietnam where the equipment is so outdated that you wouldn't want to touch anything, let alone break a sweat. The welcome drink and dessert are thoughtfully prepared, and once you try them, you instantly understand their nostalgic and exquisitely French charm. Breakfast is semi-buffet style with an option for à la carte ordering. The butter pancake is simply delicious and beautifully presented—truly a butter pancake, not just an ordinary pancake. Talking about it is making my mouth water!

I highly recommend MaiHouse Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City! I booked a suite of about 60 square meters, including breakfast, for 4,840,000 VND per night. Here are the advantages: 1. Excellent Location: The hotel is conveniently located within 1 km of most attractions, and even the farthest ones are within 3 km. Taxis are also readily available, and there are many highly-rated restaurants nearby. 2. Elegant Decor: The hotel has a decor that I really liked – a simple yet sophisticated French style. 3. Executive Suite Benefits: The executive suite includes access to the executive lounge for breakfast, where you can also enjoy complimentary cocktails from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Tea and coffee are available all day, and 24-hour room service is provided. However, I personally found the regular buffet breakfast to be tastier than the executive lounge options. 4. Entertainment: Around 3:30 PM, there is piano playing with classic tunes. Although the pianist's skills might not be top-notch, the ambiance is enjoyable. However, there are some downsides: 1. Room Cleaning: The cleaning staff was a bit hasty, not arranging things neatly. After complaining, they promptly addressed the issue and provided professional service. 2. Toiletries: The provided toiletries, especially the Roberto Cavalli brand, were challenging to use, and the hair became stiff after washing. 3. Hairdryer: The hairdryer had low airflow, making it barely noticeable. 4. Small Pool: The pool is small and not deep, suitable for a quick swim. Despite these drawbacks, I believe the overall experience was worth the 1,500 VND spent.

I highly recommend staying at this hotel, as it is in an excellent location, only 1-2 kilometers away from must-visit attractions. The key is that the district where the hotel itself is located and the surrounding environment are very good, exceeding expectations for Vietnam, and walking around the hotel can give you the feeling of strolling through Anfu Road and Wukang Road. The hotel is decorated with a strong French style, and the lobby's spiral staircase is very beautiful. The hotel's breakfast must-try items, the French baguette sandwich and Vietnamese pho, are also delicious. In the scorching summer, it is essential to rest by the pool in the afternoon, and Saigon's nightlife is also very exciting.
