Long-distance trekking at Pha Daeng Luang
Pha Daeng Luang, Mae Ping National Park
⛺️🥾🌳 is a long-distance hiking trail at Pha Daeng Luang. It takes 2 days and 1 night, with a round trip distance of 30 km to watch the sunrise at Pha Daeng Luang, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, overlooking the Ping River and beautiful mountain ranges that are second to none.
🥾👣🌿The starting point of the journey is at the Tung Kik National Park Office. You can divide your belongings that you will not bring up here without having to carry them yourself. The weight is calculated at 60 baht/kg round trip. Then we will take a pickup truck to the starting point.
🧗🏻♀️🏔️🛤️We will walk through the stream along the canal. There are small waterfalls. Some places are suitable for swimming. Along the way, we will pass through a clear stream that turns blue all the way. The journey is flat and not steep. It takes about 2-3 hours to walk for about 5 kilometers to reach the lunch stop at Tham Yang Wi Protection Unit. Here, there will be simple food and drinks for sale. There is also a small waterfall nearby.
🏕️👨🏽🦯➡️🌿After lunch, we walked for about 8 km to the tent site. At first, we passed a stream and then we walked up a long hill through Kiew Lom Hill and Pine Hill to the tent site. There is a simple food shop in the park. There is a bathroom but showering is not allowed.
🌞⛰️🌿From the tent site to Pha Luang, about 2 km, the road is quite steep. There are stairs to walk on at the beginning. You can walk up to watch both the sunset and the sunrise, which are beautiful at different times.
🛤️👨🏽🦯➡️👣On the way back, we will walk along the gravel road instead of wading through the water like we came. We will stop for lunch at Tham Yang Wi Ranger Unit and walk back to the starting point. Take a pickup truck back to Thung Kik.
