Review of riding a motorcycle to Mae Kampong (alone)
#Review of riding a motorcycle to Mae Kampong (alone)
🍃⛰
I must first say that I have never been to Mae Kampong before. This is the first time that we will experience a peaceful village close to nature, escaping the chaos of the city to relax and unwind here for 2-3 days.
Day 1: We intended to ride a motorcycle because we thought it would be so cool. So I headed to the rental shop near Tha Pae Gate (the rental fee is 250 baht per day) and set off using Google Maps to navigate. I recommend that you pin Mae Kampong and choose the closest route. It takes about an hour to travel from the city. On the way up the mountain, I must say that it was so cool and comfortable. I remember that it was 25 degrees the whole trip. This time, I chose to stay at Chaiyaphon Homestay. I must say that it was beautiful, very beautiful, with a great atmosphere for 750 baht per person with breakfast. After packing up, there was a little time left before the sun set, so I rode my motorcycle out to walk around the village to capture the atmosphere that you can't find anywhere else. When the sun set, you could see various shops with dim lights on the beautiful walking street full of shops. For my first meal here, I chose to eat Mae Kampong-style Khao Soi noodles. It's delicious for an Isan person like me, lol. After my stomach was full, I went back to my accommodation to sleep and listen to the sound of the waterfall. But at around 10 pm, I heard a call from the owner of the homestay inviting me to watch the sunrise at Kiew Fin at 5 am. I agreed and went to bed immediately.
Day 2: At 5 am, my alarm went off. I quickly washed my face, brushed my teeth, and went to the car as agreed. I don't want to say that the way up to Kiew Fin is very steep. If we had come by ourselves, we wouldn't have made it. When we arrived at our destination, Kiew Fin had turned into Kiew Fin because the fog was thick everywhere. It gave us a different kind of atmosphere. Even though we didn't see the sunrise this time, we still got a lot of beautiful pictures. After that, we went back to eat breakfast that the staff had prepared for us, which was a lot. After we were full, we took a shower and got dressed. We quickly went to find a coffee shop with a chill atmosphere. There are a lot of coffee shops here with nice atmospheres. In the evening, as usual, I went to the walking street in the middle of the village. This time, I planned to eat everything, which was a lot. I have to say that the one thing that I can't miss is the fried egg. Another thing is the sai ua. These are the two things that you can't miss. This is my last night here. I thought to myself that I wanted to stay longer.
When I woke up in the morning, I had to check out and go back. So I stopped by to see Mae Kampong Waterfall before going back. I also drove around the village to cleanse my lungs again. I've heard that why go to Mae Kampong? There's nothing here. I wanted to hit my head. It's because of the village's simplicity that makes many people want to come and experience it. I'll tell you that if I have the chance, I will come back to "Mae Kampong" again.
