Winsome Waterfall Madakaripura
After a visit at the Bromo Crater, we made our way to a very near waterfall and also a popular tourist attractions; Madakaripura. It is situated at the Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru.
The waterfall stands majestically at 200 metre and is the highest in Pulau Jawa. The atmosphere was so cold and fresh. Visitors are advised to bring raincoat because the weather is unpredictable and we tend to get wet easily by walking near the waterfall.
we took a lot of pictures and took a dip into the cold water. please be midful as the rocks are slippery. this is a must go place to visit when you are already in Bromo

MADAKARIPURA WATERFALL : PROBOLINGGO
For nature lovers, Indonesia is a country that never ends with all its natural beauty. Because when visiting an area, visitors have to spend a lot of time visiting hundreds of tourist attractions. Similarly, when visiting Probolinggo, various tourist attractions must be visited. But of all that, visitors must visit Madakipura Lumbang Probolinggo Waterfall. Why? One reason is because this waterfall has a very high altitude. The height of this waterfall is 200 meters and is the highest waterfall on the island of Java. In fact, this waterfall is the second highest waterfall in Indonesia. With all these titles, of course, it's a shame if visitors don't stop by this place even for a moment. What is the first impression shown after visiting this place? Most people feel calm when they first come to this place. Because all that could be heard was the rush of water and the sound of the wind blowing. Of course, it is a very suitable place to visit, if you want to calm down or look for the latest inspiration. Even for visitors who have an interest in taking pictures, this place is very suitable as an object. Because of its existence which is surrounded by hills, it is very instagramable or beautiful to publish. From the falling water, finally a pond that has a sapphire color is formed. No wonder many people want to enjoy playing water in the pool. If you want to explore deeper, behind the main waterfall there is said to be a cave. However, to reach it, visitors must pass through the pool by swimming or through the rocks that are on the edge of the cliff. However, it is important to be careful because this place is classified as slippery and has sharp rocks. Madakaripura Waterfall is also known as an eternal waterfall by the local community. This is because the water never recedes or shrinks even in the dry season. Even visitors who want to visit this place, are expected to use a raincoat or waterproof jacket. Because, the water roaring into the pool often creates water mist. So that it can wet clothes, even for cellphones or other gadgets it is recommended to use a water protector. It is said that this is where Patih Gajah Mada meditated until finally moksha, or physically and spiritually disappeared on earth. Therefore, this place is classified as a holy place for Hindus. Even the water in this place, is said to be holy water or what is called Tirta Sewarna. Because it is considered sacred, visitors are expected to be able to maintain their behavior and speech so that unwanted things do not happen.

Indonesia is not only the 'Country of Thousands of Islands' but should also be known as the 'Country of Thousands of Waterfalls'. The numerous waterfalls of various sizes and shapes are dazzling. During our 26 days in Indonesia, we visited 6 waterfalls, and Madakaripura Waterfall is one of the more picturesque and enjoyable ones.

The name Madakaripura Waterfall comes from General Madakaripura of the Majapahit Kingdom, who is said to have made this place his last meditation spot before passing away. On the trek to the waterfall, you can see a statue of the general. It is said that those who pass through this blessed waterfall will find happiness.
-
The reason why this place is considered to have high aesthetic value and is fun is that you have to trek upstream for a distance, pass through a waterfall curtain (see photo 6), to reach the end: a cylindrical canyon with two waterfalls cascading down from towering cliffs, forming a serene blue pond in the canyon. Many tourists trek long distances to swim here, perhaps to receive more blessings left by General Madakaripura.

✅ Travel recommendation: Madakaripura Waterfall is a little over an hour's drive from Bromo Volcano. You can visit the volcano in the morning and come here to play in the water in the afternoon. From the parking lot to the waterfall, you need to take a motorcycle for more than ten minutes, followed by a twenty to thirty-minute walk, which is fairly flat without the need to climb over mountains.
-
🥾 It is recommended to wear stream trekking shoes. The scenic area provides helmets and plastic raincoats.
