Time Messenger: Strolling through the Macau Post Office
Standing in front of the Macau Post Office, gazing up at this century-old building, the elegant European-style facade seems to tell the story of the passage of time. Stepping into the hall, the warm and soft yellow light spills down, and the ancient counters and exquisite wooden mailboxes come into view, with every detail exuding a rich sense of the era. In the exhibition hall, the dazzling array of stamps seems to open a miniature history of the world, from the simple designs of the colonial period to modern innovative art, all of which make people linger. Carefully observing along the display wall, the landscapes and characters depicted on those stamps are like letters crossing time and space, conveying Macau's historical stories and cultural sentiments. Standing on the second-floor balcony overlooking Senado Square, the crowd in the square and the old alleys at the street corners echo each other, making one feel the unique charm of the fusion of old and new in Macau. In this post office, time seems to stand still, yet it also seems to be sent to every warm corner. Leaving with a postcard, a memorable memory is left in the heart, as if receiving a reply from time.
