The top floor holds imperial attire from the Palace Museum collection, ranging from dragon robes to casual clothes worn on a daily basis. Visitors can learn about history through these garments and accessories.

A well designed infrastructure. I like the steep long corridor connecting 4/F and 3/F, seems walking through a space tunnel under sun. Exhibitions are along good, sometime from China with historical value and sometime contemporary. Always free admission.

Macau trip with kids
Fisherman's Wharf⛵️—Cultural Centre—Art Gallery—Science Centre
This route is perfect for a day trip, all within the same area. It's not tiring for the feet, and the kids are happy too! However, it's not recommended for very young children. It's better for kids in 3rd grade and above, as they understand a lot and it can be a history lesson for them! Macau now has many common leisure areas, which are great! The only issue is that hailing a taxi is difficult, you can use the WeChat mini-program: Macau Taxi Call.

Auspicious and Extraordinary: Macao Museum Exhibition
Macao Art Museum Buddha's Nest, also known as "Gawu", is a transliteration of Tibetan, mostly referring to the Buddha box ornaments that are hung around the neck or carried on the back, most of which contain Buddha statues, Dharma protector statues or amulets, which are commonly used in Tibetan Buddhism as personal protective items.
This Buddha's nest is made of 90% gold, in the shape of a round box. The gold box lid is fully inlaid with trapezoidal concentric circles of turquoise, and the side has three decorative bands of turquoise inlay and lotus patterns. The box lid has detachable ears on both sides, which can be worn around the neck with a string, as a protective Buddha box. The box is filled with green-painted wooden carvings of caves, with a silver Green Tara in the middle. Tara's face is gilded, her right hand is in the wish-fulfilling mudra, her left hand is in the teaching mudra, her body is inlaid with turquoise, azurite, beeswax, etc., and she is seated on a gold seat decorated with bead and lotus petal patterns. There is a yellow paper tag attached, with inscriptions in Chinese, Manchu, Mongolian, and Tibetan. The Chinese inscription reads: "On the seventh day of the eighth month of the 45th year of Qianlong, the Panchen Lama Erdene offered his congratulations on the Emperor's seventieth birthday, presented a red book, and presented the ancient Buddha of the Great Benefit Green-clothed Tara." Here, "Great Benefit" means great merit. According to the inscription, this Buddha's nest should be a birthday gift presented by the Sixth Panchen Lama on the occasion of Emperor Qianlong's seventieth birthday.

Macau Museum of Art 🎨✨
The gallery spaces are well curated, presenting a great range of local art, craft and contemporary installations. The art square surrounding the buildings is really pleasant. I really enjoyed the diverse work on show. 👀
The articles placed in the museum offer an insight into the life and times of the people that inhabited the place through the years. Different floors of the museum house objects related to different eras.
The Macao Museum of Art is five floors high and has five exhibition halls with an exhibition area. It is the largest visual art exhibition space in Macao. In addition to the exhibition hall, the museum also has lecture halls, multimedia libraries and other facilities. The museum cooperates with cultural institutions or artists from other countries and regions from time to time to hold different types of exchange exhibitions and special exhibitions. 🫶🏻
After appreciating the artworks, visitors can also buy their favorite souvenirs and return with a rewarding experience. 🥰❤️
