Getting There - it’s a long travel from Davao City but it’s super worth the trip 💯 we were on the road for about 6 hours 😅 Attractions - the blue river nonetheless!! as soon as you set your eyes on this magical body of water, you can’t help but feel charmed! truly fascinating 😍 They conduct a daily fish feeding around noon time where different types of fish gather as the “Hymn of Hinatuan” plays in the background. Have you heard about the Hinatuan Enchanted River located on the island of Mindanao, Philippines? If not yet, you may want to continue reading. :) This river is one of the the wonders of Mindanao and even the Philippines not just because of its clear and crystal waters but also because this place is preserving the folklore in the country. As per the locals, some sort of supernatural beings are protecting the river allowing it to be a home to many fishes and for the waters to continue to glow and be as luminescent even today. And we, as the visitors of the place should respect this story. Just like in any tourist destination, before we head over to the river itself, we had a short briefing of the dos and dont’s for everyone’s safety. Please pay attention to the briefing personnel. Trivia: One of the big No-No is being too loud. We had to almost whisper when talking there to respect nature and everything that comes with it. And yes! There is a portion of the river where you are allowed to swim. Surigao Del Norte First hand tips while on the island: •At the airport, pick up ur checked-in luggage before lining up in the document check. Guides may say you can get the documents checked first, but the thing is it will be a hassle to go back. •Airport to/from Gen Luna is 30-40mins, and best option is van even for a small extra cost vs tricycle. •Bring 20php or coins as tricycle charge (main mode of transport) is 20php per way on most destinations. There have been several times that drivers claimed they didn’t have change. •Make sure you have the exact address of your destination or even a screenshot of the route as some tricycle drivers, unfortunately, were not always sure. •Wifi isn’t as good throughout the island, even in some properties that said they have 30-35mbps. However, Lamari (hotel & restaurant) and Lunares (cafe) have the best internet service in the daytime. •Make sure to book hotels/resorts along General Luna as those off-road may be cheaper but transportation will be difficult especially at night, some not even DOT accredited. •My view: Best resort w/amenities is Siargao Bleu (500php consumable day tour with pool usage); Most affordable but delicious food is in Kurvada; Chill restaurant with a bar (Nook Bar) is Habhab and usually open ‘til late at night. •Cheap/reasonable souvenirs, esp quality shirts, can be found on the side of the bridge in Maasin river. •At Mampupungko rock pools, always wear slippers as there are sea urchins hiding underneath the stone during low tide. •At Sugba lagoon, they charge 500php for kayak+snorkeling or paddle board+snorkeling, but try haggling as I got mine for 500php for paddle board+kayak. •No food/store at the airport so on your way, make sure u bring food or eat before taking the transportation. #skiadventure #staycation #themepark #beachlife

One of the unique features of the Enchanted River is its unfathomable depth. There have been a number of diving expeditions which aimed to uncover this mystery, but have unfortunately failed. It was said that these professional divers experienced different roadblocks such as strong current and blocked passageways. I have read that the farthest they were able to go was 200 feet. I was more than contented with the feeling of joy and wonder upon seeing lovely place. It was really mesmerizing and captivated my heart! (big words!) After 18 kilometers of habal habal travel and I stood in awe in front of one of the most picturesque waterfalls I have ever seen in the country. Its grandeur, power and wide berth are some of the reasons it was given the title of being "The Little Niagra Falls" of the country. Playing around the falls was a memorable ending for our tour of Surigao del Sur. This three-tiered waterfall is considered the widest in the country, being 95 meters wide and towering 55 meters. Go where the Wi-Fi is weak, the people are few, the noise is no more except for the sounds of nature, and the smell of the jungle mist never ends. You will be reconnected with nature floating down the rivers in the Philippines.

This place is not just incredibly beautiful, but you will have the time of your life here! Palm trees everywhere you look, divided by river and one tall palm tree leaning over the river. Local hand made a swing where local kids and brave tourist jump into the water and practise backflips all day long.

I travelled to 6 countries in southeast Asia this month with 6 family members from US & Philippines . this guy made it all worth while with his professionalism. he went above & beyond to help. my mom left her phone in a Grab car & we contacted Grab, who contacted the driver, who denied having the phone. my brother in US tracked all the movements of the phone, & this guy helped us recover the phone only 1 hour before we departed Malaysia . now concerning the hotel: our stay was great. no issue. nice breakfast. nice dinner. clean pool, clean rooms & common area. complimentary things also provided. we enjoyed shopping just right across the street & less than 50 meters from hotel entrance. I am a licensed professional & multiple business owner. we choose Malaysia now over all 10 Asian countries we've visit this year, much in part because of treatment of the staff @ this hotel. if I were a military commander, the 2 security guards that work there would be the highest ranking officers in my Brigade.

Holyweek reunion at Mapaso Hotspring.Nice place and cheap entrance since it was manage by the local LGU.Unfortunately ,we did not enjoy the place since it is too crowded.There were many people as expected because of the long weekend .The cottages did not accomodate the number of guest ..Maybe ..some other time .I WILL definitely go back .. #placestovisit #hotspring
