#Maayo Argao Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
A weekend in south
Maayo Argao locals are very nice and accomodating.
Our experience over night was so awesome and they granted us to checkout late, however when the manager from Minglanilla Cebu Jason arrived and oversee the reception he scolded the staff for this matter. He did not only humiliate the staff infront of us verbally but even ruining our last time for this uncomfortable situation. Their issue should have been settled in the back office. Respect should be always be present regardless.
Nice place to relax but doesn’t have a nice seashore. Just a bay with a view. Rooms are somewhat on a pre-fab building, so you can hear the noise of your neighbors and outside. Food is good. But if you’re from Cebu City not worth the drive, there are other better resorts with a beautiful seashore and white sand. Customer service is excellent at least.
The pool and view is very good, but the room little bit far in the pool area and the restaurant very hard to order because they don't have phone in the room and they no give us room service if you want to order in there restaurant we need to pick up in the restaurant and bring in our room the service is very no good very hard to find the staff because far in the room and there staff very few only cannot find haha. Not recommend for the kid specially already gave senior in the family

Argao
Argao, a first class municipality in the Province of Cebu is one of the favorite tourist destinations in the south. It boasts white sand beaches, luxury resorts, heritage sites to name a few. And when it comes to waterfalls, this renown town of Argao has it’s share of this nature’s beauty.
Barangay Anajao, Argao-Cebu. This is accessible through Barangay Taloot, Argao and is a 25-minute Car or Motorbike ride from the N.Bacalso National Road going towards the access road leading to the Municipality of Ronda-Cebu. If you start-off at Poblacion, Argao, that should be a 40-minute Car/motorbike ride.

Simala Shrine
A testament of faith for the deep devout and solemn place. It’s amazingly huge. Well tucked in a local place. Be prepared to cover up but no worries for there are scarves for sale outside. Lots of mementos from miraculous healings. There is a route to kiss/pray to the virgin. A few minutes drive from Oslob for orientation on the location.
As a holy place it attracts many people to pray, very many, so if you want to pray at specific altar you will be lining up for a bit.
The toilets there were very clean; The rest of the place offers lots of photo opportunities.
There are Restaurants outside.
I think it’s worth a visit, it would a shame to be in Cebu and miss out such a place in the world.

Maayo Resort
Nice place to relax but doesn’t have a nice seashore. Just a bay with a view. Rooms are somewhat on a pre-fab building, so you can hear the noise of your neighbors and outside. Food is good. But if you’re from Cebu City not worth the drive, there are other better resorts with a beautiful seashore and white sand. Customer service is excellent at least.
The place is instagramable, nice view, clean pool, friendly staff. I like the nautical vibe of the room we rented very pleasing in your eyes, but, when we stayed for overnight (pre-pandemic) we found small rat running and we actually filmed it running under our bed to tv rack/table, I remember complaining it (in friendly way) to staff after we checked out. Hope they clean it thoroughly after we told them. Their food is delicious but a bit pricey. Visit this if you want to be relax and looking for nice place.
Substandard. Banquet red chairs were very visible outside their function halls and in their restaurant. Nobody's minding in keeping it in the right place. The club house sandwich, the ham and cheese sandwich and tuna sandwich were very dry. The watermelon shake and their Caesar salad were really good.
